Just figured I'd start a thread to say thanks for making this happen. This shows you are thinking of your faithful old schoolers while at the same time trying to attract new ones. I am happy that I will have many levels yet to achieve, and I refuse to go the path that some others have by looking at this in a negative light. Thanks, this tidbit of info is welcome to this player.

Cheers to Turbine!! I've seen many people on these forums ask for this, and my husband and myself have always wondered when or even IF it would ever happen. Personally, it's something I'm looking forward to. It took me almost a year to hit 126, and I look forward to many levels beyond!:)

But when they do that will they raise the cap on the XP you spend? will you now be able to have an even higher HP and Strength etc? because it seems worthless to max out every stat at 260ish then level to 275 and not be able to level anything. But then if you can make your HP like lets say 700 or 800buffed then how will that be pk?

Im sure you are kryptik.
How many maxed characters do you have? 15, 20, 30?
Will make selling xp and accounts a profitable business - for quite a while...

Thank you Turbine for rewarding your loyal customers who actually play the game with "content" (ie. level cap adjustment). Grats to you! I am counting the days to release.

Something to keep in mind however is that the current 126+ levels ie: 170 maybe lowered because the amount of xp needed for that level may be increased

Fiction....
They are not changing the caps on skills/attys. They are going to remain the same.
They are introducing augmentation gems that you can use your xp on - like an Extra Pack slot and I forget some of the others that were mentioned.

Is there anyone at that level now, virtually speaking?

i wonder how they'll b adjusting content to mee the new level cap? i mean... we'll definately need harder mobs for more xp etc. to keep up. not all of us macro all day long.(and not just hte UCM's but the ACM's, had a guy in a fellow who said he was ACM for lthe lsat 8 or 9 hours)
but i'm glad it's being raised. gives the 126's a reason to stick around.
so now i just gotta wonder if i'll get a 126 before they release the expansion.

Funny how the "hurray" thread is half a page, and the screaming of tortured souls thread is 6+...

I don't see this new "goal" as any reason to stick around. With the outlawing of macroing, and incessant nerfing of anything that generates good xp; it is doubtful that anyone will hit that goal inside a year from release date of expansion.*remeber* we already have players in their 250's...

...*sigh*
Yay to the level cap FOR WHAT???
The obvious, and huge, downside that NO ONE is mentioning is that the xp returned by the monsters that you kill will be SIGNIFICANTLY reduced. Characters over 126 will be forced to face the highest level content in the game, to avoid the xp/level penalty.
...and FOR WHAT? For the bragging rights of your displayed level?
*sigh*
I am, as I always have been, hugely against this change. I knew the [edit] asking for this would eventually win. Still, I am profoundly disappointed.

The creatures xp are not being reduced, it will be harder to level, yes, as it should be.
It motivates you. You seem to be the only one missing that.

Highest I've seen on all servers so far is level 260. So someone is almost there.
But with this change, I hope they are going to up the xp rewards for creatures and whatnot.. 275 is huge, hell, even 126 is.. for someone like me (who casually plays, took me 3 years to make 126..) 275 is like, no way in hell unless it is helped along by upping ways to get high xp.

1. The xp you receive from monsters WILL be reduced due to level divergence calculations.
2. Why, exactly, "should" it be harder to level?
3. In what possible way is this motivating?
Attempting (and failing) to insult me is a poor form of expressing your opinion. Try actually expressing your opinion instead.

Levels stopped having meaning when the first chain was made. Now it's just a number. I hope that changes with the x-pack. I made a post about what I thought wuld work in that regard. Thus far it hasnt received any imput either positive or negative. Suprising really, since everyone seems to be wanting something to set them apart from the UCM's and chainers. oh well:)
