I am only opening a discussion here on the upcoming "Rare Drops". I am neither for or against them, I simply don't bother with them.
But... does anyone remember how many angry posts there were when people failed to find Ulgrims Scroll after 10,000 critters were killed?
There are posts about the "missing" Aun and their frustration.
Frankly, I feel sorry for Ibn when this is introduced.
These rare drops may only be one per month per server. How will this effect the casual player? It remains to be seen.
"More rare drop details: There will be five tiers of rare drop with the highest tier happening once per month across all server worlds."

I'm guessing that last one there is a Tier 5. Remember the drop rate will be such that after a year only 12 items like this should exist ACROSS ALL SERVERS!
And the migration from AC to EQ is complete.

I mean for Ulgrims scroll you have to hunt one specific creature with only a very small chance of finding the scroll. That gets dull real fast.
The rare system is a bit different. I dont think it will modify anyones hunting habits, but in addition to finding majors/trophy drops on your usual fave mobs etc once in a blue moon you may find something unique.
Its also very nice for new players or rerolls to have the same chance of finding them as the high level folk - will help the economy no end in my opinion.
Overall I cant think of a bad thing to say about the concept

I don't understand...
What the hell are you complaining about?!
They're adding in a triple major with level 7s on it...
And your whining about it?!
Damn you people are really ****ed up.
Let me get this straight,
Your mad because they are giving you a chance to get a triple major item... a GOOD triple major... which also has VIIs. They are giving you something, and you are complaining about it.
What kind of backwards logic is this?

a 1 in 10million drop between what 6k people.
What the point in adding content -nobody- will be able to use since the odds of it beind discovered isnt even fixed.
So we can see 3 months with 0 drops and then 4 off a drudge slinker you dont bother to loot because you dont need a apple.
Amazing

Sounds like a pat on the back for UCMs. :p I mean.. the more you hunt, the greater your chance is of getting a rare, correct? Who hunts more than UCMs?

Auto-loot , do i need to say more?
nevertheless the idea is cool and the issue isnt a issue its just the result of another issue. An issue that costs everyone MONEY.

Poor Tara... so naive..:p
They like the UCMs now.
It's official! Turbine <3<3<3 UCMs!;)
That's THREE <3!
And you know what?
Lifestone Express is getting married to Jessica Mulligan!:)
Let's get the champagne!:D
I suppose UCMs do have a greater chance, but... still... I don't think anyone really has a good chance.
There are probably 50-100 UCMs on each server at any given time (Other than VT, of course, which has hundreds) But there are also hundreds, and thousands... of Non-UCMs on at the same time. You you put together the collective percentage of these two groups, you see that it's truly the regular people that are more likely to get it.

Yes, but you see.. They are still adding it. We're still getting SOMETHING. Your complaining about not getting something that another six thousand people also don't have.
I'm desperately trying to comprehend this... Your mad... because Turbine is giving you something?
BTW, Drudges stopped dropping Apples in February.

im not mad im consused over they are useing development time that have such a small chance of affecting anyone.
Sure its a amazing price and it shouldnt drop anywhere, but tell me have you seen anyone react well to onetime quests exept the one getting the prize ?.

I would have said Gratz to the person with the shiny new One-time quest items. Seems you have bad sportsmanship.
As for development time... Eheheh... It's barely any work at all.. Simply add in a new RNG function that includes all servers, and have it toggle off when the item generates and back on thirty days later. It's not extremely complicated work, any good engineer could have it finished very quickly, I'd say 2 weeks tops for adding this in.

I did not start this thread because I was whining about anything. I started it just as a discussion, will this cause future problems for Turbine.
Picture this.... the guy next door finds 3 rare's in one month. One year down the road, you find none. Will this make you unhappy or glad for your neighbor.
For those who find an item, Yay! For those who NEVER find one, will they post here complaining? Of course, they will. :p

when you think about it they can hardly anything which some people can twist in some form of ucm love. how about giving up with saying that everything is done as ucm love, because its NOT.

I hardly have any time to play these days, and I don't see a problem with the rares.
It's about time we started getting things that *aren't* a dime a dozen. I've played since 1999 and was very disappointed when Turbine stopped adding things such as nexus armor and hoary robes - things that were finite in supply.
This might system isn't a true finite loot system, but because the drops are so rare, they're effectively finite.

My main problem with the whole drop situation is the fact that they ALWAYS drop on death. In addition, the fact that Turbine will never replace items lost due to death or bugs. So, it takes forever to find something uber cool.. but then you lose it to some random bug that causes you to crash; meanwhile your character is killed. Great system. :(

Rare's kinda drop already. Still no one is getting upset. I know I was hunting VOD just after they put mana c on wands and found a wand with the following majors on it; Major war, major, life, major mana c. All 3 majors were on the same wand. Boy it was nice until I blew it up trying to put black opal on it. Not one of my better moments in AC hehe.
