View Full Version : Is it true that Viatmontians will be upgraded to 32bit, but the original races won't?

I've seen this floated around on a few forums in a half dozen threads and I don't know if this is a rumor or something from the mouth of a dev.

It doesn't make any sense to me if it's true, I mean it can't be that hard to redo the original three, won't they look kind of out of place next to all the upgraded stuff? Is this some sort of reroll incentive?

Anybody able to shed some light?

you probably read the same thing I did,
What I saw was that the viamont would be 32, and the words 'possibly later' other races would get upgraded.

Deeamhatt of Warcry reports,

* New playable race: The fourth playable character race, the Viamont, will have much better 32bit graphics instead of 16bit (other races *may* change later) and will have an island of their own to the north. (Racial skill information has not been released yet, sorry.)

I think it is just the wording here, when I first read this, I read it as viamonts would be 32 bit and the other races might change from 16 to 32 later.

Its possible the reporter meant something else, ( but I dont know what ) hehe

I was under the impression that everything was changing to 32-bit.

I think everything is changing to 32bit,
I just think the CoD writer there, accidentally worded things wrong, because I have just gone over a couple other reports from others, and when getting to the same question, the other reports I read, had just the 32bit line.

I expect it was a typo on the writers part, and since it was front page of Warcry's CoD a couple folk assumed it was fact.

If they use any part as 32 bit graphics, then everything will be 32bit. If you initialize the display to use 16 bit graphics you can't use 32 bit then, there fore they will be using 32bit display and since they are upgrading the textures, might as well do them in 32 bit and get it over with....

Well, the primary buffer is being changed from 16- to 32-bit.
