It just looks... bad, to the newbies, if one race is 32bit and the others aren't. Like an "unfinished product" kinda thing.
You can get away with upgrading the graphics on some weapons but not others, but on something as basic as a player, keeping other races at 16bit is a *very* bad idea.
Oh, and the Viamontians should have their own versions of the four Virindi masks -- Virindi Mask, Inquisitor Mask, Paradox Mask, Consul mask.
Perhaps their own master robes, too, since there's the Sho / Gharu'n / Aluvian master robes (though it's been so long since those robes have been updated that this would be less noticable).
The goal should be to make the Viamontans feel as much an 'established' part of the game as the other three races. The masks will be the most visible issue in that regard.
