But will there be a UI improvement in the expansion pack?

I'm even more surprised no one else is even interested enough to keep this thread up (seriously, there are more than enough "OMFG MAR0C L0V3 U SUX TURDBIN!1!1!!!one" posts).

What kind of UI improvements are you looking for?

I remember this being mentioned early on as something to look forward to in the xpak. But it seems it was either dropped from the feature list, or got the spotlight taken away from the really cool announcements they made at Turbine Nation.

I too was looking forward to this. A couple of reall nice additions would be a second chat window with filtering options, and I would LOVE a quest panel with quest timers, etc.

Some other improvements I would like to see is multiple selection for the inventory UI. That way I can select a few items and drag them all to another pack, house storage, or the salvage window. At the very least, maybe holding shift key down will combine the selected salvage with the bag the mouse is hovering over. Anything to speed up salvaging in the field would be nice.

I think Turbine was looking for a UI engineer a few months ago, but I can't recall for what game. AC definitely could use an UI update -- hopefully this is one of the things to be announced in the coming months. :)

What UI improvements would I like? Are you kidding?

The UI in AC is horrible. It's almost entirely unconfigurable (even the devs have a hard time making changes to it), its bulky, it has large amounts of wasted space, it doesn't separate combat spam from chat, and it interferes with the 3d area of the screen to an excessive degree.

Something like AC2's UI might be a bit overboard, but it would be nice to have something smaller, more intelligently designed, and configurable.
