Hi,

how will they actually work?

this way (numbers are fictional):

complete character xp 200.000.000.000 (lvl275)
internal character xp 200.000.000.000 (lvl275)
using gem 100.000.000
character xp after gem 190.900.000.000 (lvl274)
internal character xp 200.000.000.000 (lvl275)

or this way:

complete character xp 200.000.000.000 (lvl275)
internal character xp 200.000.000.000 (lvl275)
using gem 100.000.000
character xp after gem 190.900.000.000 (lvl274)
internal character xp 190.900.000.000 (lvl274)

if version two, then we can use endlessly augmented gems and just hunt for the xp we "lost" for using the gem, and the character is back to the former xp and lvl?

Or will the gem using counted into total xp and the only chance to use gems will be to lower lvl when you got an maxed out character?


Hopefully understandable what iam talking about. Sometimes i hate it that english isn't my native language.

As I see it, unless folks take the 2 credit skills, they won't make it to 275 without those special gems and such. I look forward to hearing a response to this question (made up numbers or not lol) because it's a very good question!

I would *guess*, to keep people happy, that the exp would be subtracted from your unassigned pool and just disappear as if it wasn't ever there..

anyway, good question and hope we get the answer soon! :)

From the Turbine explanations this is how I see it.

The amount of unassigned XP is going up.

In otherwords even after you have maxed skills and reached the unassigned limit you will be able to gain more unassigned XP beyond that point.

Augmented gems will be able to use XP just as skills and attributes can use XP.

In otherwords the same way XP into skills counts toward the max, so will the XP put into the augmented gems.

Of course those characters spending less in skills and attributes would have more XP for augmented gems. They gave us a short list of what some of these gems would do, of course that doesn't mean thats the whole list.
