Add in Light & Darkness Elemental damage/protection types.

From the book that can be found in game, Disciples of Tempest -

As children we were taught of the 6 elements of the world, and how they came to be corrupted or changed. How water and wind were replaced by the frozen tundra and the poison. We know how light and dark battle endlessly as elements opposed with neither being the greater power. We know that there is nothing in this world that is not a shade of both combined, just leaning a little more toward the other.

This could lead to the ultimate ending... the true battle.

Make it so number 1... ;)

I don't know how others feel about it but adding in these Light and Darkness to the Elemental types would obviously work the same way as Acid, Frost, Fire, and Lightening.

I guess the big thing, and possibly drawback tech wise, is if these 2 types were added to armor protection banes. I could see a problem adding that to the existing loot. I was intially thinking about it Light and Darkness Elements add to just War and Life, but the longer I thought about it, it didn't make sense to restrict it only to magic.

If it's too much work to add in Rends, Armor Imbues, Banes, etc. then perhaps a lot of this could be limited to only certain quest weapons and armor that would provide Light and Darkness damage and protections, and War and Life spells related to this could maybe done in a similar fashion as the Fellowship spells (meaning you do a quest to get scrolls to learn the spells).

Read the text carefully. They arent talking about a war spell or damage type. 6 elements of the world: Earth, wind, fire, water, lightness, darkness. Lightness and darkness refer to the magnetic pull of the moon against the tides and of the battle of sunlight vs dark. The light fights with darkness, neither being stronger than the other. Daylight fades to darkness fades to day etc...

That's what I read into that.

Riddles, I say Riddles!

I think it'd be a good idea to add the FOUR new damage types.... water, wind, light, and dark.. It would make a lot more sense for water golems (and the like) to cast Water Bolt instead of Frost Bolt, and do water damage instead of bludge. Bael Z'haron and Shadows could finally do the damage that they should!

Sunjhi -

I can see what your saying. Yeah I'm probably taking that quote out of context but I'm thinking of this on other terms though.

Yet here's the thing, there is reference throughout lore about Light and Darkness.
some examples:
Asheron, Lightbringer
Dark Sisters
Followers of the Light, like Adja
I think BZ was said to be born from the Darkness

These 2 elements (Light & Darkness) would different from the basic 4 elements. Basically we would tap into and learn how to use these 2 elements for combat. It would be based from magics of the Falatacots.

Working more lore into the gameplay is fine where it makes sense. But what's the payoff in this case? I'm having trouble seeing how carrying nine kinds of ammo is really any more fun than carrying seven.
