Can you spot dereth?

Yeah I was thinking when I first got my Map that the tiny island is Dereth.
From what I recall from reading the lore, the Falatacots originally came from lands to the west of Dereth, then during the Ice Age they fled southeast to the Dericost. I'm not sure which continent the Yalain came from but I think it's the one to the farthest east.

Dereth is indeed that little smudge to the soutwest of the rather large psuedo-peninsula jutting out from the polar cap. Far to the south you can see a small cluster of islands... that is...??

It's either Knorr, or Canada. I can't make it out to be certain.

You know, I find that map really confusing... Never imagined it like that! If Auberean's about the same size as Earth, then all the countries and continents we know about are MUCH bigger than I'd guessed... I had thought that dericost, yalain, haebrous, etc were all crammed into an area not much bigger than north america... Obviously my scale was way off ^_~

actually your not way off, my understanding is that map is pulled from the orb and the orb is a slightly modified earth, what amazes me is with all this land mass the most contested piece of real estate is a tiny little island. wow there must be somethin really special about this island.

Indeed there is. I would have to mull through lore for hours on end again to completely refresh my memory but...

As far as I recall, Dereth is the most magically active area in the world.

As I recall from what lore I had read, Dereth is like the junction point of
several of the ley lines of mana.

So that does make it quite a magical hotspot.

As for opening up any part of the rest of Auberean, I think a dev actually posted that in all likelyhood, that it would not happen.

It seems that the olthoi we are fighting is nothing compared to the ones that managed to overrun the rest of the planet

Well, and again I am (mis)quoting a dev, that the Olthoi we would
encounter outside of Dereth have the capability of negating pretty much all magic items at Level 4 and above.

Would make it a bit tougher fighting something as tough as those with the Ancient Olthoi Queen with only have Level 3 spells available.

Making a full blown make of the world of AUberean would honestly be a lot of work (since the source files used to create the Globe and the Map of Auberean are relatively small and low res).

Making a huge high res map of Dereth, however, is much easier and something I would like to get done if I can ever find the time. :)

That COD map is amazing! I can even see my house on there! It's the little green house just east of the mountains, directly north of Lin and directly east of Baishi.

I never realized exactly where I lived in relationship to some of the places around me! Amazing!

wow, that speck of land under the polar capped peninsula is dereth? that tiny to all those larger landmasses, look like they may have futures in series of expansions.

i dont think it is overunned with Olthoi in other lands, just localized Dereth.
they may not have assess to any other landmass.

i bet they do have "Wariaths" from other land zones not native to Dereth, now it make sense when connected with AC 2 and they somehow got arrive "magically" in somewhat over 500 years later?

so Dereth is like same landmass as Rhode Island in a manner of size of Pixils.

other set of islands, come on? it almost look like Ac2 version of 3 larger islands (Linvak Mascot, in middle, Osteth, and Vesayian) but details didnt match.

so i am assumming there is Gromnatross living in that islands far in south hemisphere?

world that size make me wonder about other nations and tribes and tons of local fauna and creatures that never seen on dereth, so much lore and history and lot more inter plots, or even highly advanced societies or high tech.
or using Dereth as their testing site.

i still wondered how do the Auberean look like after the 2nd moon's fatefull destruction had rearranged the face of the world in Ac2, what the map really look like in globe-wise?
