Just a Theory

Recently I've been researching The Old Ones, The Master and other god-like beings, seen in the lore. My theory is that The Old Ones were not beings of the physical world, they were beings like the Virindi are, beings of pure energy. Perhaps they were spirits of some sort like the Tumerok worthship. The other part of my theory is that The Old Ones, The Master etc were of all one powerful race, simple different factions or heritages. I think the Old Ones were beings much like the empyreans, yet died off...then later on from what was left of thier race developed into the empyreans (with no knowledge of thier past) I've seen it done on a TV show, where humans are the decendants of a anceint race who died off in a plague (what show I ain't sure)
