Does this really work for you in the real world? If it does I would like to know what world you live in.

Lets see here..

Phantom Sword needs a bit of a tweak (Turbine is working on it)
Bow Bug needs to be addressed (Turbine is working on it)
Other melee skills need to be looked at (Turbine is looking into it)
Jump Spin/Fast Cast/All other known exploits (Turbine is working on it)

Basically, this game in its current state is more balanced than it ever has been. Anyone care to argue this point? /me looks for Rak

I have been playing DT since the begining and I have experienced all the imbalance, cheats, exploits etc.

Things are never going to happen over night, and I feel really sorry for all you instant gratification freaks out there. You have a hard and painful life ahead of you.

Things take time! thank you Turbine for caring enough to get us to this point. The game is better than it ever has been as far as balance.

I disagree.

The game was most balanced just before weeping weapons were put in and before the last melee weapon nerf.

The game is not balanced for a melee at this time.

what in the **** are you talking about caffeine....

Other melee skills need to be looked at (Turbine is looking into it)
Jump Spin/Fast Cast/All other known exploits (Turbine is working on it)

melee skills are going to be lowered to the point of no use, they said they were going to nerf ua and make sword alittle better. That would just make sword where ua was and make everyone have to switch to sword again their not gonna raise all the other skills just lower 1 skill and raise 1 skills

Then the jump spin isnt going to be fixed they need to rework the ingame physics which they said would take too much time and money, fast cast their not going to remove cause againt hey have to do the physics but againt hey did a band-aid for fast cast, of course the mages complained and cried so they left it in game. You should remember that if you played since the beginning...

Most of the problems in this game have been "looked into" for years. If we ever get a comment on the "progress," it is just another "We are always looking into ways to solve this," type of thing.

The game is nowhere near the most balanced it has ever been. There were several periods where it was much better off (and sometimes very close to being ideal) within the last 2 years or so.

Do other video game designers take something close to balanced and then do what turbine did?

here are the steps they followed

1. Listen to o.O's saying "melee's are too powerfull in "ganks"
2. Nerf melee into the ground
3. say "oh, what MELEE damage got changed into is not what we intended... this will take 4 months to fix" (ONE QUARTER OF A YEAR!!!!!)

when mages were made unbalanced ... you know... RIGHT BEBFORE THIS HAPPENED......it was with sing wand.... and they fixed that after 2 months

and remember before that. the ONE TIME EVER mages were made weak for a patch by accident..... it got fixed HOTFIXED right away in 2 weeks ... thats right

WTF is up with this development team????

And when they nerfed melees one on one weapons (weepings) in general, just to deal with ganks, they actually made ganks worse by introducing upgraded hollows and phantoms, and making the UAs insane (which is bad with their speed and sticky).

That's the thing I have still never understood about this whole deal. There was never a comment made on what the reasoning was for that.

I recall the different spell words and armor debuffing. It never did hurt any mages with a hint of skill or the common sense to tinker up a Covenant BP.

I wish melee got the same hotfix treatment.

If you want the game balanced, quit effing with eveyone's weapons and add the ability for a chance to thwart an attack in the event of a critical hit. That is the only balancing factor in every other game there is out there, and there's a reason for it. This is what AC is missing, and while you people SCREAM for balance; you are opposed to giving someone with maxed stats the ability to beat you in a battle. UMMMMM hello? LMAO...what's the point of maxing anything then? Basing balance on weapons or attack is ludicris.

If someone has maxed stats, they didn't earn it.

It's really not that hard to balance. It has gotten oh so close, oh so many times, but every time a class other than mages starts doing really good, massive mage love, or just an outright nerf to tons of non-mage characters, comes along. That has been the pattern since PvP balance was first worked on. It is even happening right now.

You would think that an effort would be made, just for ONE time, to get as close to ideal balance as possible, so that the devs wouldn't have to do any more work past that, and could just model all future changes on it. That's less work in the end, but oh well.

I know plenty of people that havn't macroed or whored and have maxxed stats...myself included. Now maybe we don't have all maxxed stats and attributes, but certainly a couple is easily attainable.

But aside from that, you are correct. I feel they are going about balancing ass backwards. Another thing I have major issues with is basing damage solely on weapons. I never liked that about AC...I always thought your stats should have a more imapctive role on how much damage is done.(Archers excluded of course.)

Well, when I say maxed stats, I mean like level 200+ people who have maxed virtually everything.
