its been in game for a long time
if cast twice before the timer is up your spell just fails
don't confuse FC with other animation breaks though...those still exist in spades

My personal gripe with pk is in the archer v mage arena...
Its soo very annoying that Im plunking arrows right down a mages throat, and not a singel one hits him/her...they all hit the enviroment, and while im shooting arrows into the wall this mage is dancing back and forth healing-transfering- or attacking, thanks to the animation breaks that let em dance back and forth while casting...
So please break out the superglue and appy it it to all casting mages feet...
And one other thing where is my ageis bow addon?

I cant shoot arrows and slide all over the room at the same time. Its impossible.
So not only do mages have the ability to debuff, war, and heal, but they get to dodge all over the place while doing it?
Your right that is an imblance.

This would completely destroy any semblance of balance in AC PvP whatsoever.
...And make 1vs1 fights nigh impossible.

You can move any time with anything in any direction. That is how sliding works. Take it out of magic, and you destroy the entire game.
And fast cast IS fixed. I don't really understand what the complaint is.
I honestly don't think the people who ask about this even played when you really could fast cast. When people just fully inepted me in what literally seemed to be seconds compared to what was normal, I found that a little different than the virtually unnoticable difference wars go off when someone "fast casts" now.

No it would simple mean the adopting of a circular balance
Archer > Mage > Melee > Archer
I still fail to see how bugging spell casting to avoid arrows is proper game machanic use. And yes I do under stand the diffrence in FC and slide casting. And I also understand they are both an exploit of the animation cycle.
Now you want to lean it in fine, make it so I can dodge war spells and heal, or fire arrows, and or chug a potion at the same time. Give the same to melee's ... not that it would really do any good becuase then no one would beable to kill anyone else.
I guess in the end my real gripe with the whole SC thign is a mage has it soo good already , they can whip out that wand , and debuff heal and kill with out changing modes. Is it too much to ask to make it so they cant scruy around while doing it? I think not.
And one more thing, how do you call it a "semblance of balance" when reguardless of stats an archer cant hit a mage in 1 vs 1 unless that mage wants to be hit.

That's the simple, cheap sort of balance that makes other games horrible, and that we *don't* want for AC.
AC PvP is balanced, but in much more complex, interlocking, situational ways than the simple model you describe and that the players do not want.

I agree, but I think that's the way it was intended to be. Fast casting in the sense of double casting spells is fixed, I believe. I think that what many people consider "fast casting" is just animation breaking.

yes before you could cast almost two spells in the time it took to cast 1 if you just stood there...
now you cast at the same speed...it just looks like you're not

The Animation break isn't at the same speed, you can cast a spell, step into it, and fire it before the animation completes, and then begin casting the next spell. It's a glitch and totally gives mages an advantage and completely disrupts any ability of timing someone casting.
I think "1 step while casting = cancelation" should be placed into PVP ONLY. In any other MMORPG if you move while casting it cancels the whole spell. That's how it should work. If you are casting and you move, the whole casting should instantly be aborted, and you can just run freely, giving you the ability to still dodge, but not keep your casting going. The animation would just stop, as if you jumped during a recall to market, or LS.
Noone else can attack while controlling their character. It's unfair and being extreamly exploited by pompus smack talkers that think their wonderful for exploiting a bug.

But yet we want mages to expliot animation breaks?
Its doesnt matter how you put it, what argument you use to justify it, or how much you think you need it to win.... Its still cheating the system.
Thats it its that simple. Why keep comming back trying to justify why you "have" to cheat the system to win? If you think mages need help then say so, but keeping an exploit is not the awnser.
What your saying when defending slidecasting is you want AC to be more like Diablo2 online. Who ever can hack the best wins.
