You have mentioned in other posts that you do not wish for gems to further separate the gaps between low and high levels. However, with this Strength gem you will be doing just that (from a PvP standpoint). I just read about this gem, so I appologize if there is already an active thread going on this.

This will completely take away the burden issues mages often run in to, and will be worthless to melees. No melee will need this gem due to high strength already, this gem is only useful to mages. Isn't that what you're trying to stay away from? Weakness will no longer be useful against mages, which was the one and only thing they had going against them. I just feel like everything is being aimed toward mages, I get tired of playing my mage. I'm meant to be a melee.

Also, is there going to be a gem that lets you drop less items on death? If we're going to be dropping 22 items on death now, that's going to drive me nuts. DI's are going to be a pain to hold, even with more pack space!

I remember very cleary (but not where anymore) that the devs or IBN said that one gem will reduce the number of items lost on death.

Do mages really still run into a strength issue still? I dont play a mage ever, a mule once:P, but from where I'm sitting now in game, the only disadvantage a mage has is that they can't hold a shield and cast at the same time. I know mages that wear heavier armor than me. True, they may not be able to loot as much as I can, but I just still dont see this as a strength issue.

Sides, even as a Melee at my normal hunting burden of 67-70% would probably use this gem for myself if not mules as well. Im just a pack rat under neath it all:). At the end of the week I usually have to clean off Heal Kits and spare Spells from mules to load em with quest items and neat trinkets I have collected.

And even from a looting stand point, I find mages tend to hunt creatures that drop Scarab Peas alot anyways. So they dont really need alot more strength for the money.

When I am hunting solo however, I usually pick up any item that is 15K+ in value and doesn't wiegh more than 10K. Which fills me up pretty quickly at times:P.
