View Full Version : Can I change an existing character to a Viamont?

Well, we didn't have a chance to do it earlier, because the race didn't exist, and I've got a spear character who acts just like a Viamonter (she's supposed to be a former privateer - otherwise known as a pirate with a license). An appearance change if needed would also be nice, though name changes wouldn't make sense (due to character reputations).
I especially plead for this if you use an existing weapon as the Viamont racial weapon. Some of us actually use spear, throwing weapon, mace and other not-so popular weapons that may be slated for the racial weapon of the Viamont and it would hardly be fair to pay double for the skill simply because your characters older than the expansion pack. :(

I wouldn't count on it as an option.

While the idea is intriguing, it is unlikely, and frankly unfair.
New players would want to play a Viamontian (and so would I) and for higher levels to switch over to a race new players would enjoy to be part of the first wave of wouldnt be fair to them... Anyway, you can powerlevel yourself. It only takes a few months to hit 126.
One more thing, it would be pretty neat to make viamontians a primarily magic using race... for instance, instead of a racial weapon, give them Mana Conversion. Just a thought.

I did 126 in 3 weeks RL time after considering the time I was physically able to play (we lost power for a few weeks because of the hurricanes in Florida), which was just about 9 days of in-game time. This was 100% legit and took about 3-6ish hours per day. I used two sets of tusks for turnins, Gaerlan Swords, and the Scout Notes.
It can be done.

Mind telling those of us not in-the-know how it was done exactly? I get to play less and less by the day and I still only have 1 level 126+ character.
Fellowships in any of the hot dungeons (sclavius, olthio matrons, wasps), combined with trophy quest items such as tusks, pincers, G man, Scout notes, the newish 11% mage items all help you gain experience at an amazing clip.
