Since Bleeargh make his appearance at Yanshi, speaking in old broken roulea dialects.

We know Viamontians make thier present known within few months.

But what happened to the people of Roulean from Ispar and how did those mosswarts got thier spoken dialects? the questions remain mystery...

Were they also arrived on Derethian? and why they (mosswarts) hostile to other and some are friendly to others? i dont think Rouleans are aggressive by thier nature, they are scholars, scribes, and teachers, even traders, they may had traded items of value with mosswarts and learning thier roulean dialects.
was thier first settlement Edelbar? long before Aluvians took the local environment.

Did Olthoi took all of those and none of them survived?

I am sure Harluun knew what happen, he the one should knows what befell the remaints of roulean folks.

there is alot of lore missing, maybe Bleeargh could tell us a few story beside tribal wars.

or maybe Virindi keep them imprisoned in portal space while trying to escape from the fury of Olthoi? forever trapped? mutated as undead or shadows? Roulean Survivors on Tusker islands?
or it might be possible that Roulean created a recording shards and mosswarts somehow pick up the words.

i am wondering what with those folks in towels, who are they really? aluvians or rouleans or gharu, they are all mixed in with bad memory losses?

can anyone speculated? how do they (mosswarts) spoke that dialects and where are they at now? hiding, dead, conquered? to shy to make contact?

Roulean language is the common language of Ispar, Isparians speak it today on Dereth ;)

I'm not sure of the rest, but I assume the people who settled on AL and other parts of Dereth were Aluvian, Sho, and Gharu'ndim.

edit: Opps I misread the comment on "old" broken dialect. Grearrk doesn't speak in an old dialect.

From Across the Vast Divide Teaser with Grearrk -
The mosswart screeched and scurried beneath the steps of the establishment, bawling and begging in broken Roulean.

Grearrk spoken dialoge -
The creature speaks in a broken form of Roulean.

Same thing with Bleeargh dialoge -
The creature speaks in a broken form of Roulean.

I think the broken form is similiar to how the old Native American Indians speaking English, speaking only a few words to make a sentence.

example - Bleeargh, Mosswart Swamp Lord tells you, "We try make peace. We needs help before we leave and go make war on lost cousins on islands in the south. You help?"

Interesting idea though :)

now i get it, thx.

i think it was mostly learned from Martine under thier care, missing for years, until he came back twisted by Virindi and partly by Gaerlan.
there was a lore on Explorer Mace and how Martine was in middle of Mosswart and Banderling tribal wars.
make me wondered if they are all from Tumerok's world, why then they wasnt spoke in Tonk's dailects?

Same reason Russian dialects are different from English dialects.

I don't think they could have learned all of it from Martine, he wasn't under their care for long before they handed him over to the virindi and he was a prisoner... I can't think where else they'd have picked it up though! Unless just from watching people without us knowing it... Certainly, when Martine was captured I don't think they spoke any Roulean at all, as far as I can remember

As for why some mosswarts are friendly to humans and some are hostile, Bleeargh's mosswarts are probably more friendly at the moment because they're facing being wiped out by the Burun and the Banderlings... they need our help, desperately.

The hostile mosswarts, mainly the ones on the Vesayan islands, are working for the shadows, and these 'Dark' mosswarts are hostile to Bleeargh's people too...

hm, either that, Martine came back after he was altered by virindi. he would had beat them up and so how they may pick up more words to obey and fear him?

that possible if happen.
