Dire Castle

I am looking for any and all things related to this castle. Lore related, all creatures, past and present, levels of said creatures. Who built it and why, and is it still being used as it was originally intended. All I need is to be pointed in the right direction as I have no idea where to research such knowledge. Perhaps you could be a bit more specific? There are quite a few castles and fortresses in the direlands. :)

The name is Chalcimere Castle.

The Steward of Chalicmere lives there, though she has never actually shown her face to us (maybe eventually). She presently leads the Latzimestal, thus her title of Steward. Latzimestal means "Lords of the World" in Falatacot. Basically, they thought that the Filinuvekta's (or "Winds from Darkness") way of ruling from the shadows was cowardly, and decided to reveal themselves to the nation of Dericost, and lead it as undead. She controls what exists of the Dericost Kingdom in the name of King Sarvien II, who was overthrown by the armies of Yalain and Haebrous.

Hope that sheds some light. This is from my own notes, but I originally learned from reading Maggies (Maggies is your friend).

I have never heard Chalicmere called "Castle Dire" personally. But that could be just because I like to go by proper names and not what has evolved from the message boards (if that happens to be the case in this point) :rolleyes:

I think the name "Castle Dire" came from AC explorer before it was actually officially named.

I want to see a use for the castle outside the obsidian plains near the HoLL. Its been sitting on an hill with no way up since probably beta.

Castle Dire, for me anyway, came from Beta.

There used to be a good chest in there that spawned the best loot in the game and was relatively easy to get.

I camped that puppy for eons, until word got out about it and everyone (on Leafcull anyway) called it Castle Dire.

Then they nerfed the chest or took it out, can't remember, and now it's just another place in the Dires with no reason to visit it.

You sure you aren't thning of the Tumrok Overlord? That used to be the camped place in the dires for its chest.
