His cold green eyes glowed in the darkness of the torture chamber. “Speak!” cried the voice of the man standing before him. “Why don’t you speak?” “Torture me all you like, mortal” “Fine” The man pulled out a sharp knife, and plunged it into the tortured man’s chest. He screamed in pain. “Are you going to speak now?” The tortured one spit in his captor’s face and said “My kind shall come, and they shall destroy you for what you are doing to me” “Really, then where are they? Are they afraid to come and fight me?” The tortured man began to laugh, it echoed through the halls. “What is so funny?” “End my life, now, kill me, end it, please” “Is that your final wish?” “Yes…” With that the man walked to the back of the room, spoke some ancient words from a book, and then a bolt of flame shot out of him, and hit the man pinned to the wall. The man’s body was incinerated. “The end of that then…” he said to himself as he walked up the stairs to the portal, and stepped in.

He walked into the nearby cottage, to get a drink of Ispar Ale, after finally travelling miles, for a few days, to reach home. “Hello, Aeraek” “Huh?” He looked around the room, no one. “Can’t see me?” the voice laughed. “Show yourself!” “Fine then” A man appeared in a black robe, sitting at the table, slowly sipping some of the ale. “What…I killed you…last week…in the chamber…you were incinerated…” “You are correct, my body was incinerated, yet my mind, my soul, lived on. I’ve reached the place you’ve been trying to get to all these years, your gateway isn’t a physical object my friend, its spiritual, its death!” “Impossible…” Screams echoed out of the cottage, like ripples in a pond. “Enjoy death my friend, yet, wait, you won’t die, your soul is bonded with a lifestone, O well, just means I can have the joy of killing you thousands of time over” The screams became louder, and finally, stopped. Only the sound of the wind could be heard, its voice carrying the sound of screaming. The green-eyed man walked out of the cottage, smiling, and with a flash of white light, disappeared.
