I know many people out there are writing storys they have about AC, I myself am writing sort of a AC biography on my character lol I added in the days of ispar so it have am ore of a story rather than just start from the middle. But i was wondering, What if we wrote a good one and submitted it to turbine? Would you use it in quests or possibly add it to a local AC libary? or reward us with our own copy of it in AC on some cool pedistal? It wouldnt even have to be a main storyline one just like a side one for a quest.

I believe Turbine has done something similar before. Some of the texts in game are player written.

I know there are 9 books in game that are written by players; there was some sort of player contest in the summer of 2000.

Midnight Revelation by Ashgad of Thistledown
Recalling the Calling by Anjwar al-Jaenth of Morningthaw
Derethian Skies by Ariq al-Binara of Frostfell

Sho books (Hebian-to)
Loka Jii Learns to Hunt by Loka Wu of Morningthaw
The Emperor's Blade by Ja'afar al-Saladin of Solclaim
The Journal of Nandesu Ka by Nandesu Ka of Leafcull

Aluvian books (Cragstone)
Shadows of My Doubts by Aytalya of Darktide
The Journals of Change by Aragorn of Thistledown
The D00dz by Vexorg of Thistledown

You probably shouldn't just submit stuff to them though, because there might be legal issues with them using it...

I saw an interview once with JK Rowling, and she was saying that doing a signing in America some people would come up to her and say 'I've written this story, I'd love if you could take a look at it', but that these official men would always reach out and grab the stories before she could take them. When she eventually asked why they were doing this, they explained that it was so she wouldn't leave any fingerprints on them, and there was no possibility that anyone could claim she had seen the fan stories. If she took those stories, they said, and 10 years from now she wrote a story that was in some way similar to the fan story, then it was quite possible the fan would sue her for using her material.

I'd imagine Turbine's in a similar boat, so if you want your stuff to appear in game you should probably not submit it to them without first finding out how they feel about it ^_^

For competitions and things there'll be a sentence somewhere in the rules saying that Turbine can do what they like with it and you can't sue them, which is why those player-submitted lore items are in the game without any problems ^_~

Well if you submit it to them and give them full permission to use it, and ofcourse they would give you credit by placing you as the author of the text which you wrote. Im sure as long as permission is given use it as long as they are credited with making it then both partys benefit, Turbine would get a new story and ud get a book published (ingame of course)

But i think the fanmade authors should recieve somekind of gift like their writings completed in a book on AC or if Turbine decides to put the book out across dereth then maybe even a special version of the book on a swet pedistole liek the tome or the ressurgent but cooler. like ifyour a Sword you can get a swordstand pedistal which has a large round shield as base a sweet 3 bladed or something sword as column and a buckler as platfrom for book but let the sword poke thru the buckler so it looks like its stabbing the book. Same thing with Axe except make it a sweet axe like the sword or something, make it like slash people or something. Do same for all melees and missles, give mages wands staffs and orbs, but make em look cool, like have a staff sticking out of an orb with auberen(spell?) map on it and have it cast some kind of glow which can be dyable(dont ask me how lol) the glwo would then hold the book, and if u close the book a beam of light would shoot out across the sky to be seen for miles around(this light would stay til book is opened, note diffrence between closing book and leaving it open. also it would drain mana of nearest person/crature besides owner. Archers could have a bundle of arrowshafts put together for base,Bow for column, then arrows put together for platfrom for book, Xbows could have Quarrels together for base, quarrel shafts for column and xbow with three arrows sticking out as platfrom for book. it be cool. when you close or leave the book for missles it shoot the nearest person or creature besides you and do damage to them whether it would be pk or pklite.

I can see it now...some guy walks up to her with a book in his hand, ready to throw it at her so she'll leave prints on it...but the bodygaurds yell "Look out! He's got a book!" They run and jump to intercept the book as though it were a bullet. Would be pretty funny to see something like that happen.
