Ok I get that message only a few minutes after I log on and then AC crashes. What is that? I know it is not just my account either because I went on a friends account to test it out and the same message and the same problem still happened. It doesn't happen every time I log in though, it is kinda selective.
Also every now and then when I go through a portal I will be frozen as a purple blob on the other side of the portal. If I leave it alone for too long AC crashes and in order to log back onto that character I have to go on a different character first and wait for a while. This is very irritating and I don't know what is going on.
WHAT IS WRONG!? Thank you.
Are you running Decal with an irc based plugin? I understand that Decal is causing problems still.

This happened to me once in my dozen or so logins since patch. I'm not running Decal (obviously) or any other third-party stuff. When it happened to me, chat seemed really slow, so I logged out and back in and got the new "connected to chat" message.

Please help. This bug (or whatever it is) cost me a house today!
Microsoft still provides tech support for the game, I don't the ability currently to diagnose and resolve all tech issues like this one. But I will try my best.
Do you always get this message immediately before the game crashes? Are you running any sort of hardware or software firewall?

If I do get this message then I do always crash right after.
I currently have Zone Alarm Pro, and Panda Antivirus Platinum (Which has a built in firewall) as software firewalls, but I always turn these off before I play.
I also have a Linksys cable gateway (modem/router/USB/HomePNA/4-Port Switch/Wireless) running

When I log off, with or without Decal, I get the message, "Now leaving (something) chat."
When I log on, I get an enter message, similar to that.
These messages are in the upper lefthand corner of the viewer window, where the "Please wait -- in portal space" type messages appear.
New chat system issue?

"You have left an allegiance chat room" is the exact quote.
I can screenshot it if necessary. That is sans Decal.

Hmm I have never seen that message. I'll have to look for it next time I crash.
I am guessing that something is happening to your connection to the game... first you lose connection to your allegiance chat channel, and then the game crashes.
This may not help you resolve the issue, but it is my best guess.

I beleive that Ibn. When it happend to me, it was as if the game crashed without telling my client.

I think this problem is related to these integrated cable modem/router devices that ISP companies are offering for wireless networking. Im using the same set up as you, but different manufacter and I have the same exact problems. The tech support people suggest just replaceing the device, and going with a regular cable modem. Then if you want wireless network, go out and just purchase your own router and hardware. Ive been trying for weeks for a way not to do this.
