Okay, I have had a couple of requests to add more "spice" to this potential (and hoped for) new story arc idea. I am pleased to now obliged :)
Here it is, so happy reading and please comment. Thanks, Gray

Deep in the bowels of the earth on Marae Lassel, 2 intrepid, yet reckless, warriors were slowly being overcome by a seemingly non-stop horde of Olthoi Eviscerators. The pair’s skill was made apparent by the towering mound of evis bodies surrounding them. In fact, the area commonly known as the ‘pincer room’ had so many bodies stacked, the two were entombed in a maze of decaying olthoi corpses.
“I don’t think we can go much further,” the UA gasped. “We’re running out of room to maneuver. Stupid of us to think we could do it without a portal gem or two.”
“Aye,” her companion grimly agreed, taking a vicious swing at yet another bug. “But I’ll be damned if we’re going down whimpering. Let’s fight to the bitter………. What the hell!?”
The swordsman’s bafflement was genuine. For no apparent reason, the remaining eviscerators abruptly turned and fled. Just then, as the warriors glanced at each other, relief etching their faces, they too felt it.
Seeping into the very depths of their hearts and minds, a wave of malevolence chilled them to the core. With an intensity that was almost physical, both fighters were literally staggered and knocked off their feet.

Far to the south in a hidden subterranean lair, a very uneasy alliance was having it’s first meeting. Leaders from the Burun, Virindi, Tumerok and Lugians were bickering over final details of a plan for global domination. As the tension reached the breaking point, something happened to make their squabbles seem petty in the extreme.
With no warning, no fanfare of any kind, a visible wave of darkness began oozing into the chamber from all sides. Writhing and swirling in no discernible pattern, it slowly approached the bickering quartet, passed over and through them then vanished abruptly.
Had any been there to view the results, they would have seen four corpses, drained of every drop of bodily fluids, the remains desiccated husks.

“That concludes my report Your Majesty. I must apologize for the lack of detail, yet there is nothing more to add at this time.” Pushing his chair back, Antius turned to depart, when Elysa halted him.
“No need to apologize when you have done your best, my friend. However, I have a new mission for you. Take whatever supplies and troops you need, investigate this matter to the fullest of your ability. Also, Cyclops is days overdue in reporting to me. See if you can divine his whereabouts. You are dismissed.”
“As you command Queen Elysa.” With a courtly bow, Antius left.
