Within the first month of them taking over AC, we've had a week long roll back (longest ever), and now everyone is getting over 1000ms pings everywhere..

Man, turbine are gonna feel it when they raise the subscription fees, I'm not paying MORE for this DIRT POOR service.

It is certainly unfortunate that a DT server was jostled by a technician while another was being installed, causing the original problem, and it is beyond unfortunate that the tape back-up system had not yet been installed and the local back-up had already been overwritten after the problem was discovered. But for that, the roll-back would have been only a few hours, not days. Again, we apologize, but let's not get paranoid about this. If we didnt want DT around, we wouldn't mess around; we'd just close it and be done with it. That ain't happening, :D.

However, let me be clear about something: We haven't taken the game over yet. The transition is still in process and, as we've been saying since we announced it, it is going to take time. The datacenter is not yet under our control, we didn't move the servers, we don't run customer service yet and we don't own QA or bill you yet. As soon as we control of any piece of that, we'll let you know. We're working as fast as we can to make it happen, but it isn't like flipping a switch.

In the meantime, about a dozen people located here and in Redmond have been working most of this Sunday to find out why the Tusker dungeons were causing extreme lag on some servers. They've found the problem and a work-around has been implemented. See http://forums.ac.turbinegames.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1740 for more details.

That's really freaking weird that loss of items in houses was caused by the server being shaken up. I mean, if it can have an affect on the game like that, it could have just plain broken it. We're probably kind of lucky there, and I doubt it was a stupid mistake someone made or something like that. Do you really think someone managed to turn the entire server upside down or something to that extreme and then said it was an unavoidable accident?

As for the abuse, hehe, I think we take more from eachother and I enjoy that part of this game =)

Actually, it was one of MS's contract technicians.
