Over the past year, heroes have come and gone, adventurers have fought bravely against the forces of many, and evil, unseen forces have stalked the shadows of Dereth.

What has been your favorite story (either in-game or via websites) over the past 12 months?

Mine would have to be Interview with a Mosswart (and associated lore bits) from the summer. These poor little creatures want nothing but to be safe from the Burun, and we - more often than not - cut them down with consideration. It was refreshing to hear of the trials of Bleeargh and his tribe as they struggled to not only survive the incursion of the Burun, but strove to make new friendships with those they previously saw as dangerous passerbys.

The Shattered Coil, the first two parts mainly

It was the first major lore of the origin of the Burun. Back then most it was a mystery unlike today when the storyline has run its course and answers (well some answers) have been found. I liked because it generated a lot of mystery and interest towards the upcoming storyline in much the same way the the Elements of Revenge and 4th Sending storyline's were built up.

I like when the story unfolds overtime and The Shattered Coil was an excellent way to begin to the burun storyline.

I really enjoyed the reports to Niarltah. Great backstory about Bur.

The one by Orion talking about multi-weapon buffs and a shield-inclusive buff with armor. Must be my favorite AC-fiction story to date.

On a less sarcastic note: Harlune's book from the Mt. Lethe quest.

The burun story is the winner - in particular the story "on Bended Knee Part 4":

I laughed and laughed and laughed. I still get ths smiles reading about Reeshan's reaction to the return of the Isparian...

I'm not sure it qualifies as a story, but my favorite occurrence during this past year was the raids on various towns. I had the pleasure of stumbling into three of those raids, on two servers, and thoroughly enjoyed myself (although I left several corpses during the Halloween raids). The raids lent an air of danger and mystery to everyday activities that is usually missing.
