I think I have found a GLARING problem with your new launcher program. There is no EASY way to access default port settings for people with multiple players on a home network.

Here is the situation:

I am running multiple computers on a network here at my house. I have migrated 2 of my accounts and then had to perform a format & reinstall of one of those systems.

Upon trying to get back into the game we discovered that the other machine has the default port settings and the re-installed machine ALSO has the default port setting thus fubar'ing BOTH accounts when trying to log onto the game at the same time. When I try to access the port setting using the old MS launcer it asks me to insert my disk. I have a self made backup disk I update monthly, so I can re-install the game if I need to, but it does not like that disk for this purpose for some reason. I no longer have the ORIGINAL disk (child smashed them :<) so I can not try that disk.

Note: my backup disk is a direct copy of the original AC disk that I copy the monthly portal.dat, cell.dat and client program over to monthly and then re-burn the disk. You got to LOVE CD-RW disks. When it is done installing all you had to do was get the zone update patched, and that was automatic.

I was able to change the port settings by un-installing the game, re-installing it, use the old launcher to change the port settings, THEN run the billing migrator to get it back right. This is a bit much for your average computer user. With the soon to be new people it can be a play killer if they want to run multiple accounts on the same connection.

If I am wrong and I have totally missed this setting somewhere please let me know.

Thank you for your time

there is a program called ACSET.exe in your AC directory, that is for port settings and graphics, I'm sorry you didn't find it before you reinstalled.

Thank you.

That does the trick, but a button pointing to that NEEDS to be added to Turbines AC Launcher application. To have to hunt for it and click on things to find it is absurd.

I wish I had know that before yesterday. It would have saved me a LOT of grief.
