I think I have the same router. It always just worked, no port forwarding needed. I did have to update it's firmware to have a stable connection though.

Here also............we have the Linksys BEFSR41 V.2 with the firmware update and don't have any special settings either and it works just fine.

Out of curiosity, are you trying to run more than 1 pc thru it and can't log them all on to the game at the same time? If that is the problem, you need to set different ports in the AC settings itself....not the cable/dsl router.

If you're having a problem, you need to post what you are experiencing so we can help.

I can tell you this, we have a cable modem and was advised by a tech to make sure that the router was on and shows all the pcs before you turn on the modem.

Make sure you have the DCHP set for how ever many pcs you have connected to it. It you are running 2 pcs thru it, I set mine for 3 or 4 pcs. That's about the only setting I ever change on the router.......I don't have any of those other settings set up in the "advanced" tab.

Hope this helps............. :)

Edit: Our son also has the same router and doesn't use any special settings to play.

I have that model it didn't need anything to play AC. However I have to reboot my PC every 24hrs to reconnect to it. I don't know why. Been calling tech support for a few day now still no fix for it.

Sounds like dhcp issues with the router, check for a firmware update.

You computer renews it ip address with the router every 24 hours. Something is happening with your ip renewal.
opening a command prompt and typing
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

should fix without having to reboot.

This router needs no other settings to play, just updated firmware.

huh. I have a D-Link DI-514. And I have tried and tried but can't get more than one computer to play at the same time. Heck, just to get ONE playing right I have to use the DMZ thing. There might be something I'm missing, but my point is, gamer-friendly this ain't.
