View Full Version : Give us your feedback on the February event!
Use this thread to let us know what you think of the February event: Infiltration.
Known Issues:
Currently some creatures are dropping Black Marrow Keys 100% of the time. We are currently planning on fixing this issue with a prop in the near future. We do not expect that this issue will require a rollback. More information when we have it.

Invalid user name or password?
Getting this on all 3 accounts, what's up ?
Multiple players are reporting invalid password or unable to connect to authentication server errors. Customer Service and NetOps are working this currently, will post a status update as soon as I have it.

Where I do so love reliving my beta days this search for missing parchment has me about to go batty...
No clues other then one of the 10 pages way to many places they can be, If any of them are on and cliffs that I cant see it from the ground Ill never find them..
This is just love for Decal to be able to scan huge areas to find these things not for my poor finger to have to keep hitting [ and ] .....
I guess on the plus side yay 30+ purple dye plants and 60+ runed chests that I cant open for 24 more hours...
Well back to searching

why does the Eye of a fallen don't have a bonus to mana conv but to melee def ?
Even a small bonus would have been nice.

Have creatures had their attack skill upped? My melee d does not seem to be working like it used to before today. Getting hit harder than I normally do.

My and several other's melle Defence is not being calulated correctly, please fix this....
We didn't make any changes to anything that would be impacting melee defense. What makes you say that it's not being calculated properly?

Things that should not be able to hit toons for an ubsurd amount of points are hitting them. This is with buffs, banes, and good armor.

Is this a matter of creatures hitting too hard or hitting *at all*?
Melee D has nothing to do with damage reduction.
Things that should not be able to hit toons for an ubsurd amount of points are hitting them. This is with buffs, banes, and good armor.
You'll need to give me specific information -- what buffed melee, what buffed AL, what creatures, how often, etc.
We didn't change ANY of this for the February event.

The reason I say something melee D related is because of the ammount of times I got hit. When versus assailers, I normally get hit 2-5 times on average with the rest evades. Today while watching, I evaded once out of all the times they swung at me.
The reason I asked about creatures damage being upped is because I also got hit for a fair bit more than usual. IE Hollow Minion before I would get hit 20'ish. Today from Hollow Minion: 50-107.
It just seemed odd that both things happening at the same time. After asking others about this, some are noticing a difference and others aren't. I don't know if it might be down to a significant area or what. It seems to be happening in dungeons more than outside hunting areas though.

Sorry for the double post, but I noticed this after my previous post.
Buffed Melee is 415 also wield a base +10m bow.
Armor base AL is all 300+.
I experienced this problem in the Singularity Bore Dungeon. I helped lead a group of 4 through there about 8 days ago without any problem. Today I go to help another group of 4 with the flagging and did not make it past the first ramp down. Today's group had more melees with us and the melees were the ones getting beat down, lol. The only mage with us recalled after the melees died.

I was blaming observer error when i noticed a similar trend earlier.
Was getting hit by the rats in the dungeon for the feud quest alot more often than normal and for more damage.
475 buffed melee
+30% melee mod bow
cov armour ranging from 450 to 660 al
with a full compliment of lvl7 buffs.
hope that helps a bit. may still be observer error :-)

Is this kind of thing done just to peeve people off or what? The Fallen Katar drops off a Caul creature, what irony. I had to take my mage there to kill it for a ua character  I am impressed beyond words that you at least didn't make it attuned and bonded must have been a hella long meeting to get that detail worked out huh?

Vlad, the fallen & banished items fall off of an assortment of creatures.. most fallen monsters I've seen were levels 145 - 161 & had health from 1,500ish to 8,500.
They seem to be more of a trophy than a monster made for that type of character and pretty common, easy enough to have someone else get one for you. The crossbow monster has a much lower regeneration rate than normal rifts (which would've made it mage only, I'm not sure if it is atm).
Some comments from what I've seen so far of the patch:
- Locked Caul chests are hard to find. Some of the portal gems I've seen are strange. Why would someone want an Obsidian Rim gem when it's right at the island drop? :)
- Fallen monsters seem too easy to find
- Nice to see you guys making use of a few of those Caul areas that were just eye candy
- Thanks for removing the tursh totem restrictions, I couldn't find anyone who wanted to do the lower level quests with my alts last month. Re: 80-99, aren't Virindi Adjudicators against the chaotic virindi? Doesn't really matter if they are as there's probably less than 20 people who'd notice, just something that made me go hmm :)
Will post more comments later.

I was in SOR, the guards and Rampagers were hitting me with the usual damage. I liked the Salvage Helm Quest critters! that was a fun little quest.

Why could you only get the katar with a mage? My lvl 116 staffer got a staff, a katar AND a dagger (and two portal gems!) within an hour, hunting solo :)

Monsters always seemed to him me for a rediculous amount while baned, and protected and buffed but that's becase they're monsters I guess? They are built different than us people, a level 85 Tusker guard for example would be extreamly hard for a level 85 UA toon to kill if the toon was not buffed with no weapon, like the tusker is not buffed with no weapon.. it's normal just forget it and raise them skills ;)

Well being from Morningthaw, the best thing i can see in this patch is the value of sings are done which means all the ucm'ers who've farmed them have to resort to hunting like the rest of us for the benefit of trading with Marble,SSK,granites'

Please take out the statues in xp lever dungeons. I was in the lowbie one (20+) on a mage and this melee just hid behind the statues the entire time, waiting until i run out of mana (which is inevitable at that level) to come out. I really had no chance thanks to those statues. W/ my lvl VI's I was hitting him for about 80 or so while he was doing 15-20 per swing on quickest setting w/ his hollow sword. We both had 180'ish health.. The sec I started to do s2m he would come out of his hiding spot and by the time i was done getting mana back i was dead or near dead. =|. it sucks and I'm never going back to that dungeon.

Just finished the new lugian quest and wanted to make another post in here.
That quest was fun! A+
Portal gems to get back there was a nice idea, especially with no portal to recall to if you died. Rewards seem like they'd be useful to some people. The surprise after Amaroth was even cooler than the banderling ancient spirit from last month (and got similar comments from the other people I was with too) :)
Nice to see that twist at the end. You've got me wondering what'll happen next :)

Thank You Turbine for last night's Live Event. It is the first live event that I have participated in, even after almost five years of plaing AC. It was great fun. My heart was actually pounding as I tried to keep away from all the badies. I wish I'd won, but seeing several hundred white spots on my radar was quite a thrill. The worlds haven't seemed so full since the old days of portal storm arwic. I really like the fact that everyone was forced to be newbies. It brought back the excitment that playing AC first engendered in the Summer of 2000. Super Kick Butt! Thanks Again. :D

I like the new Fallen weapons, although I wish you'd make some 400 req ones to catch up with loot versions. Same with Blackmire and Singularity and Noble weapons, where are the 400+ versions?
The xp levers on DT are awsome.
The 250 al robe is cool.
Good lore, lots of live events.
Cool quests.
No complaints, really, and the expansion pack looks to be shaping up very well.
Overall, nice, just need quest weapons to regain equalibrium w/loot.

Some feedback thus far:
1) Why are 126s still stuck with normal PXP rewards? The Halaetan Magic hunt is a fun (although time consuming) quest... for either 1.5 or 2 mill XP for a 126, depending on what you do with the book. I guess that would be fixed in the expansion as 126s would then have more than 8 million XP to level, but why not add in a static reward for 126s now, and remove it and have it function normally in the expansion patch? Last month's Tursh Totem quest is an example of this.
2) I understand the nerfing of Sings as an economic standard, but I think you may want to reconsider the ease that Writs can now be obtained. The 100% drop rate on the keys doesn't help things either. I've used all of the unlocked Reliquaries and about 10 keys, and I have 7 writs, just from that. Combine that with the three forge essence quests and boom, mansion maintenance done for a month. I'm sure some people aren't going to complain about this, but I see Writs as something that should have economic value as they're consumed each month for housing -- not something that should be plentiful like pyreals.
3) The Shadow Lugian quest was fun. The key in the barrel (which I missed!) and the portal gem for future runs are nice touches. Hopefully this thread won't totally disappear when the expansion launches with the new storyline.
All in all a neat event though, I'm especially enjoying some of the most recent live events. :)

Not sure if this has been reported, but I believe there is another creature with a 100% drop rate on the keys. At least all 5 I killed last night all dropped a key.

It seems that every time you add monsters the older ones get harder to find. I've spent about 30 hours now trying to find either a Brown or spiney armoredillo with a hide. I didn't expect a high drop rate on hides, but just finding 4 dillos an hour is nearly impossible. When I started looking I was trying to do the Lugian hide quest, but it's also a Villa housing item. This is a real cause of an endangered spieces problem.

I think that this patch is full of bad and good just like any other. People are enjoying some things and not others and everyone has a different opinion on what is "good" and what is "bad". Par for the course. What I find troubling is that there are only 3 pages of response to the event. When I first started coming to these boards there were many many pages of response. It seems to have dwindled to 6 or so last month and now 3. /e shrugs It may not bother you but it sure as heck worries me.

I think a great feature to add would be dueling with wagering. You could just challenge someone and a wager bar would pop up, just like a trade bar, put in what you are willing to wager, agree on it, then both players would go PK Lite, and whoever won the duel would get whatever the other person offered. I think that would be really fun. just a thaught :)

hrm, there might be something to this melee defense thing people are talking about. My mage seems to be taking more damage than before patch. I hunt him in North ML a lot and I was thinking yesterday that the gromnies and cenzaris (sp?) were hitting him for more damage than in the past. He doesn't have melee trained, and I haven't put anything into cord/quick in a long while or changed any of his armor. I kept checking my banes and life pros to make sure I didn't miss anything (they were on :) ). It's not a huge difference but noticiable. My main is sword, so hiding behind a shield you can't see an effect :p

Really guys! The drop rate for monster specific items may not have changed but finding the little critters is getting harder and harder as you add more monsters. Have you considered an endangered wildlife preserve?
This month's addition to the endangered monster list is the Marsh Siraluun, I only know of 3 spawn sites 2 in Redspire and 1 in Greenspire.

Why not a level lever on all worlds? you could fix it so only one toon on each account could use it and put what ever other controls you wanted. As it is only those who fellowship or are already higher levels can get the good items. this would help level the playing field some what.
OK, flame away.

I sent one of my toons to the casino (Holtburg) yesterday with a load of extra notes. She used to get about 12 large memnosynes per 100 high stakes tokens but now is only getting 5 or 6. This happened more than once as she went with over 14 million pyreals in notes. Was this drop rate changed?
The guy that sells tokens tells you that "fortune favors the bold"; how bold do you have to be? Isn't 5 million pyreals worth of tokens at one time pretty bold?
