View Full Version : Remove Movement

I'm sure those who have mastered movement while casting and healing etc. would disagree with this, but here it is....

Remove the exploits: I propose removing all movement while casting and healing. Mage vs Mage battles are won and lost by the ability of one mage to move while casting, really good melee's and archers learn to dodge war spells while moving while healing.

SUMMARY: PK IS ALL ABOUT DODGING WAR. That's it. Remove it, bring some more dynamics into the game other than that art of dodging war spells.

Feedback anybody?

Lets see, uh, yeah that's the worst idea I have ever heard relating to anything, hands down.

I can't believe someone actually suggested that for real. It's like a big joke to me.

I mean sure, the game wouldn't just die off, especially since PvP overall has worked great since '99 because of the ability to move around.

I agree. NO.

Movement is the best part of AC pvp. The only bad thing about PVP in AC 1 is movement EXPLOITS (and elevated xp chars).

They need to just fix the exploits.

I guess thats kind of hard when you are unwilling to rewriting the completely obsolete engine that is 6+ years old. I guarantee if you had to pay for a subscription to play Quake 2, and Quake 2 had as many subscriptions to AC1 as AC1 has, they would have updated the engine to at least the Q3 engine. Oh well.

Then PvP AC will simply be all about evading war, and the exploits will go on then.

Do you even pk? Because from your comments sounds like you do not have alot of experience lol.

I do PK actually, and I think it's an exploit the game of PvP can live without.

I know mages don't like it, because they'll die in 2 casts.

Man I want EQ PvP where you cast spells and even if you run away from them and they "miss" they still hit you!

Yeah lets all be fence posts firing wars at eachother and wacking at eachother for five seconds until someone dies!

I mean look at all these exploits! Omg horrible fast cast that exists to fix the REAL fast cast and the stuff that comes from sliding and the casting radius to fix GOD MODE!

Wow horrible exploits we have now! Let's get rid of movement and make it more fun because they have so much of a detrimental affect on the game by fixing really bad exploits that make it completely impossible to even play against someone using them!

Woot fun!

I am a mage and its fine with me. Plus I dont die in 2 hits to it. You must be talking about your noob pk colleages.

People dont die in two hits. Since you are referring to mages, so will I. There are a fair amount of mages who can take 4+ wars, because they have over 400 health and maxed out magic d, which has good enough odds to resist one or two out of the spells it takes to kill them.

If you can't move, then there is what skill involved exactly? Oh yeah, your magic defense skill and your health!

Yeah, we can play STAT WARS! That's the best game ever!!!

If skill is learning the exploits, then make the exploits obvious and available to everybody.

They are if you PK at all.

And skill is not exploits. People just say they don't have a problem with them because it requires skill to implement them and have any point to using them.

You can't stand in one place fast casting and expect it to help.

Skill is 90% sliding and timing it with when your spell will cast and what is coming at you.

The current "exploits" just change the timing a little, so the whole situation is no different.

People also like them because it adds variety. Standing there would be immeasurably even worse because there would be ZERO variety whatsoever.

The more freedom you have, the more places there are to be strategic, and therefore, employ skill.

YES!!! i am 100% agree with you VC.
As long as the "Exploits" are not breaking badly the PvP balance, it's fine.

Let's not. The ability to move is the one thing that makes AC PvP stand out from every other game on the market. Remove that, and you'll pretty much kill PvP.

Ditto.

No movement = boring Stat Wars

You'd just sit there and throw wars at each other wathcing each other health go down until someone flops over. Wooooo...

VC said it perfectly.
