If a character doesn't have Life Magic in it's design, it has no way to be extreamly effective. With a minor adjustment to already available content, it could make PVP much more exciting, then just being a skimmer, if you are without Life Magic.

I'd like to see less Strength VI Other, War Magic Self V Casters.. and more that are like this.

Acid Vuln Other VI, War Magic Self V

I dont need that strength other VI. To have a complete set of wands to buff someone with VIs would be incrediably hard to come up with, store, and even very expensive to charge. I dont think arcane should give you the effectiveness of War Magic's credit-costly spells, so I'd also suggest removing War Spells from wands, but either way...I Think the following should be the only spells availabe on Casters, activated by Arcane, alleg rank, and/or Racial Requirements.

Heal Other, Mana Boost Other, Revitilize Other.
Imperial, Bludg Vuln, Slashing Vuln, Piercing Vuln, Acid Vuln, Fire Vuln, Frost Vuln, and Lightning Vuln.

War Self, Item Self, Creature Self, Life Self. (Minors/Majors in this catagory to replace the Self Spell would also be a nice spawn).

I'm sure along time ago having a wand that casted spells on someone was nice, but now we can buy scrolls so it's pretty useless, It would also give more meaning to the wand's spells, instead of just looking at the Mana C% bonus and Work Value. And of course these vulns would come in the varying level ranges.

Also too make this even more effective, I'd like to see a Spell Craft Tink to increase what it can land on. (Use Diamond ;) )

What does everyone think?

You have Resistance Rending.

Non-Life-Magic characters are now effective in literally every venue except for Solo PvP.

I think that's plenty fine as it is.

Why is it plenty fine to leave them out of a whole type of game playing experience which is now toggleable with a command? Requiring trained life to participate in PVP isn't fair to the casual PVPer, or to a template design that doesn't include Life Magic.

Also I think it would be more of a hassel to switch to the wand, cast it, maybe get resisted, than just dinging away with a RR Weapon would be, plus it would cost mana from the wand, So having a resistance rendering weapon would ultimately be better.

It's your own damn fault for not training life magic. Why should arcane lore do everything life magic does? Life magic costs 3 times as much.

If you want to PvP without life magic, either go in a group or GET LIFE MAGIC.

Give your character the skills to play how you want to play.

Christ, this is like if I complain about how I can't use all the good swords because I didn't train the skill.

everything??? First off it's level VI spells we're talking about. and the difference between switching wands, for each spell, then switching to weapons is alot different than a Mage casting Life vulns and then instantly attacking, or casting a life vuln that's a 7 as well as Imperial easily, only 1 wand needed for that. And the only extream usefulness would come in PVP, it would actually give that person a chance to participate. "It's your own damn fault" sounds like a childish response. You have no idea how much work is involved to make arcane as effective as life magic, as defensive. Having the ability to simpily vuln with the already "Melee sustaining" way of Arcane would make it more "Melee like" and less I'm 1/2 mage 1/2 melee, im a hybrid gimp that can't excel in any 1 field because i want to have melee and magic. why not offer ALL level VIs via Arcane?

edit: and you have no idea how expensive the upkeep on a magicless (well has Item) toon, that is self sustained by arcane.
