View Full Version : Watcher of the Dead in Ayan

When fighting in ayan, all you have to do is talking to the watcher and take off, when he finishes talking you vanish, it gets really annoying as it makes it impossible to kill people.
Anything that can be done? I.E. can't talk to him xx minutes after getting attacked?

Weird. It's also weird that I once again cannot see james' reply to this thread.

The mousloleums and that port you without a pk check I guess. Turbine needs some consistancy in timers.

Why is that? So lev 200+ can camp the newbies trying to get intot he levers?
If a timer was put in place they could cast imp 1 on every newb they saw and a mage and a meele could own every single person who went to the levers.
I don't see that as being fair to the players who are low level. Get off your ass and instead of camping newb dungeons go do something productive, like fighting real pks at sanct or something, you know pk's who arent 100 levels below you...

ok stupid question? HOW is figting "real" pks at sanc "producitve"?ROFL......
Sanc fighting is something to do outta bordem. At least killing the lever noobs would be "productive" as your making it harder for them to level, which in turn is keeping them outta ur real dungeons jsut taht much longer. Expecially the last tier of dungeons. These should have timers...if not all of them. In no way shoudl 2-5 lvl 100ish's not be able to put up a fight agaisnt even a couple lvl 200's. ok im done with my lil rant......just thought it was wierd camel woudl be complaining about noob camping. As i remember back in the day camel camping COUNTLESS hot drops to prevent others from leveling. Just fail to see how this would be any different..Excpet the fact there is no drop to circle so it gives the nubs much better odds then when we were all camping AL for control. Specially before they took out that stupid room u'd portal into
EDIT>>>>>>>>this was meant if wide camel is the old Camel Wide IG >>>>>>>>>>EDIT
Double edit>>>>>>>>>make them noobs work for their free lvls

Hey Wide, this is DT not FF. There should be no safe zones period. This effing game is getting so dumbed down for PK they might as well just get rid of DT all together because ....OMG I GOT PK'D...I can't do anything without dieing.... I hate this server, omg buff me, give me DIs, can you level me...where's the buff bot, where is Hometown, anyone know where we turn in ore for hollows, where are levers? I'm so sick of these o.Os coming to our server and even more disgusted when I see a guild member of mine complaining about noobs dieing on DT. THIS IS DT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! READ THE DAMN DISCLAIMER BEFORE YOU LOG IN AND SAVE US THE WHINING!

I agree Zihn.
DT isn't my home server, I've played o.O since I started but I recently started playing DT.
Leveled myself to 20, found info on levers and went to them.
Never asked for help from allegiance, though it was offered.
Up to 50 now, still using level 4s though. :p
Honestly, if people don't want to die they shouldn't play DT, it's simple as that.
However, back to the topic at hand, can Devs please do somthing about this? It's effing annoying!

I haven't been able to read Jameskong's posts for about two weeks now, they simply are missing.

I wonder if Jameskong can read our post asking about him. His post must be getting funny, "don't ignore me jerks", "can anyone read this?". I made a thread in the techforum. Ibn said he'd look into it a few days ago.
PK timers should apply to everything that portals a character or to nothing. Also if someone is house or ls recalling and gets attack that should start the timer and not let them get home or to the ls.

agree with Camel
go find something more productive for pvp than asking stupid stuff that will ruin the fun of the game.

K maybe we are playing in DT, maybe DT is harmfull but, if high lvl's camp the places for lvl 20-49 what can the nuubs do? fight with your main outside, then go inside, fight inside tooo wow, really harmfull, and get lvl 100 in 5 months? that will suck if we wont let nuubs vl.

Give me an eff'n break Abb... Do you not have enough intelligence to understand that if a high level is camping somewhere that you want to hunt that you go hunt somewhere else? Have you not taken a look around and realized that the server is huge and we have a low population? If you can't find somewhere to hunt then you don't deserve to be here. There are tons of places to hunt...we don't need the damn levers on the server and we don't need Turbine making things safe to level because this defeats the purpose of the server itself. If I wanted to play on a safe server I would go to FF and emote all day in safety showing off my leet cooking skills making apple pies, then go hunt wherever I damn well please because no one can hurt me. BUT I don't want that crap. I want a server that is not safe anywhere.
You may ask, well that is fine since you are all leveled up, but what if you had to start over and lvl a noob. I came here by myself and leveled out in the wild, did the grind to about 50 then starting hunting a few dungeons and joined a clan....jesus go whine for handouts somewhere else! If you guys sat down and thought about it for more than 10 minutes you would realize that you CAN level on DT w/o levers....SHEESH!!!

This is one of the big problems with the levers as they are now, even though I support the idea of fast levelling on DT.
Never before have levelling grounds on DT been level-segregated. Back when Dungeon of Corpses was a newb levelling spot, I used to love raiding that place constantly.
But now, people starting DT simply aren't used to the idea that high levels will kill them, and do so repeatedly, while they are tryign to level. They don't understand the concept that for many high levels, one of the main points of the game is to *prevent* those who are lower level than them from levelling up quickly.
And that erodes the support of the DTer playerbase for the "harsh existence" which we know and love.
It means an influx of new players who want mansion barriers to stick around, who want the Marketplace to be a non-PK zone, who'd probably want penalties for high-level PvPers PK'ing someone much lower level, who'd want lower levels to not lose loot upon death and not have to hunt in areas where high level PKs can kill them...
...It creates a class of people who want to turn Darktide from a harsh existence into PK lite plus the occasional death item looting.
For those of us who have long held fundamentally different conception of what Darktide is, these new players are troubling.
Not because of their PK skills -- they're usually quite "ownable" -- but because of how they shift the balance of DT popular opinion, and how that may impact future rules changes and content additions for Darktiders.

Higher levels have always killed lower levels when they are trying to level up. That's the way it is SUPPOSED to be.
The difference is that back in the day, when that happened, you got guys in your allegiance to go defend your newb hunting place that was being raided. Then you went and raided your enemies.
Now there's no point in controlling stuff like that since xp chains are gone and no manual leveling is really worthwhile, so it's all dumbed down.
