to continue the discussion of luring monsters on dt

the goal of dt is to kill people. there are many ways to do this. luring monsters should be acceptable... in fact, it's a smart idea if you're only one and they are many. i don't see how this aspect of the CoC (luring a bannable offense) can POSSIBLY be considered on darktide.

Agreed....Point of DT is to kill people in anyway possible ( as long as its not exploiting or hacking in some way) he was using something that was put in the game...Monsters are meant to attack players...

This is against CoC but War detect isnt...i truly hope your joking...

Why dont you just get rid of the "Harsh Existence" sign at the login screen cause obviously you pay no attention to it....

Want to bring in more players? Want to stop the players from hating your decisons? want to MAKE more money?! follow these 3 easy steps.

1# Get rid of envoys...make 1 command for help with glitches ingame
2# Don't touch darktide again, no more patches, you only screw it up more with each patch.
3# Ask Darktides opinion before just jumping the gun and doing somethign ( as well as you should with other servers..) so you realize what your players want...dont base how darktide should be for yourselves...let the players decide..that is how you attract people, let them make their own world...more realistic..

Just quit, it's pointless. The attitude towards DT is set from on high and the culture within the company is one of hostility towards us. Lol they didn't even bother to investigate this. Jesus christ all Ibn had to do was talk to the damn envoys to find out which one had the incident, not that hard. Instead we get this BS sidestep of a response and are told basically that now griefing is illegal on DT.

so now if someone reports you for harassment you can then be banned for doing things which are legal .....

What I want to know is if training monsters can be part of a "pattern of harassment" can't attacking a player be considered exactly the same way?

This is like arresting someone at an airport security check because they are an ex-con.... even tho they didn't do anything wrong at all....maybe because they have sneakers on or something. then when there is a public uproar about it you come out and make a statement "some people have a criminal history and therfore are subject to different rules". So they can be banned for doing something legal????? how are they supposed to KNOW NOT TO DO IT BEFORE YOU BAN THEM?????????

As a melee I might as well not even enter a dungeon where I could need to fight if I cant use mobs to my benefit. I can see it now:

Melee report: The mage trapped me in mobs and I couldnt dodge, he harrased me!
Mage report: The melee vulned me for mobs and didnt even try to fight, he harrased me!
Envoy: You're both banned!

DT is so pathetic now a days it's insane.

How to win:

If you wan't to lvl up. Find a group of peacer's and lvl up holding hands in the "pvp" dungeons.

If you want to macro. Start a report war with you enemy that is macroing. Report him each time you see him log on at night. Or cry to an admin that he is using indecent language or pulling monsters on you.

They were on Caul Island from what I understand .. OMG .. if that is true .. THIS IS EVEN MORE INSANELY foolish than I had previously thought.


First of all .. I'm sorry, but you can't be a low lvl char and get to Caul Island. So, the luring of monsters is a moot point. If you can get to Caul, then that means you are of sufficient level to survive.


Listen, we've all played long enough to know .. that at this day and age, if you die to a monster (that isn't do to a lag out, macro'n, or the random 5+ VII's at once) then you need to seriously reconsider playing on DT ..


<edit> LOL SHON .. but sadly enough, that does bring up a good point .. often times, when a melee raids a dungeon, the melee cannot get close enough to kill his enemy due to the monster spawn .. so a common practice is to vuln the enemy to the monsters attack ..

so now, you're telling me, that I can't do that??? <edit>


<edit> On a side note .. I'm still extremely glad they implemented the levers .. I don't care that people are "peacing" xp in the dungeons .. that's fine .. just means more DI's for me when they get done and have a mid level char with 0 PK skills <edit>

This has to be a joke. I didn't see Ibn's response but there has to be no way that Turbine's official position is that using monsters to kill people on Darktide is somehow "harrassment". I can understand the occasional Envoy being that out of touch with Darktide but I refuse to believe that decision makers at Turbine are.

People have been using Monsters either by dragging them on players or simply vulning the other player against the monster's attack forms since day 1 on this server, not to mention casting bludgeon vuln on anyone they feared would jump off a cliff to avoid death.

I mean I could possibly understand if white dots trying to get inside a red dot before they turned red and "stick" that player on them might possibly be construed as harrassment, but there's no way using the game creatures to help kill someone is.

People have been using this technique the first day of retail when the first person dragged a roomful of drudges in the Holtburg dungeon onto an unsuspecting rival to gain a few precious minutes of alone hunting and gain a few xps on their enemy. The incident that happened yesterday on Darktide was pure insanity and I have faith that those in charge at Turbine will be able to see that and instruct their Envoys that while Darktide is not exempt from harrassment complaints (for things like racism, exploits, excessive swearing & crude or innapropriate comments), luring monsters on your enemy on a PvP server where your goal is to kill your opponents cannot possibly be construed as harrassment except by someone who just recently joined this server from a white one one where combat interactions between players are discouraged.

Ibn has already stated (http://forums.ac.turbinegames.com/showpost.php?p=194299&postcount=7) that training monsters is not in direct violation of the CoC. However, please be mindful that 'harassment' can be the result of a variety of activities and can not always be defined in terms of a singular, precise description. These incidents are individually evaluated to suggest the most appropriate course of action.
