Out of frequency range

I've been trying to log into AC but everytime I try to log in my screen go's black and i get this message:

Out of frequency range

Set resolution lower or see monitor users guide

I went to properties and lowered the pixel and the bits and nothing - i've changed them a dozen or so time.

Can someone please help

Set your dektop to 16 bit color. Then start the program ACset.exe in your Asheron's Call folder and set AC to 800 x 600 and make sure z-buffering is off. Hopefully that will get AC started and then you can change the resolution to something that you like later.

ok, I tried that and still a no go... I'm getting fustrated I was playing the game a month ago on this computer. I updated all my drivers grrrrrrr i just dont know.

then roll the driver back and see if that solves the problem.
