Was this ever confusing..... Yet another ToD Pre order saga

Well, I will make this as short as I can.

I preodered the preorder hypnotized hypnotized from EBGames online last week. I was supposed to get a call when the items got to the store. I orded a couple. I had to reserve them with my credit card but was told I wouldn't be paying for them until I picked them up. I read here and on the turbine boards that many people were getting theirs already. I have not received a call from them yet so I called the store I was having them shipped to. He said there were three there. Great, I will come pick them up! I got there and there was only 1 ToD the other 2 were for AC2. So I was a little peeved but I figured I would pick that one up at least. I then handed him my paperwork and he said I was not in the system, even though I had a customer ID and order ID on the paperwork. He gave the Pre-order to me and didnt charge me. He said I had to pay when the actual game came out. worried worried worried worried

I then got confused saying that I read online that others were paying. He did his best to explain and I just said ok. Then he told me to call the hotline to make sure they will send out my others that I needed. I called the ONLINE hotline and they didnt have a record of me either. Said they wouldnt for a pre-oreder shipped to the store. He said they have the record of you@!!! I said no they didnt!!!! So after arguing for a minute, He was more confused than I was with the preorder of the preorder. I explained it as best as I could. He was very nice and told me he would talk to his manager to get more pre-orders out to this store for me.

That is all fine, but after this is all said and done, how is turbine supposed to link us pre-order customers with the game to actually get us the bonus item? The only thing I can think is the serial number on the pre-order box. I know even though I have this physical box, I am still going to have to rush to this store to get my copy. They are suppose to contact me first but given what has happened, I am not betting on it. So how do we know for sure........?

All you really need in order to get the unique items ingame is the serial number off of the envelope that the DVD comes in inside the pre-order box. So, assuming you're able to get EB to give you another pre-order box, you're cool there. More on this later.

The real rub for you is going to come when they actually have copies of the game. You're going to have to figure out if their online system is going to charge you or if you'll need to pay for the full game at the counter. My guess, seeing as you aren't in anyone's system, is they are going to make you pay for it at the store. Just hope you don't get double-billed by their online system as well (though, in the end, their customer service MIGHT be able to fix that if it happens). :confused:

Back to the serial numbers...if you go into turbine's billing system and log in to your account, you will see a link for Throne of Destiny under a section labeled "Available Pre-Orders" or some such. Click on ToD and it will ask you for the serial from that pre-order box. Once that is entered, then when you actually purchase the full version of ToD, your account is flagged for the bonus items. Clear as mud. :D
