I was in line for 49 minutes, then 20 minutes of downloading, with 8 minutes of downloading left, when my power went out (for about 20 seconds, then flashed back on). As I go back to Fileplanet, hoping my download is resumable, it gives me an error. After searching the support site, I find out that downloads that weren't paused are not resumable. Well, naturally, I didn't know my power was going to go out, and didn't pause my download before it happened. Now I'm back to waiting 60+ minutes in line now, then will have to spend 30 minutes downloading again.
Murphy's Law ftl.
Don't worry folks, if you don't get the download RIGHT THIS MINUTE, the Preview will be running for at least a day or two.
:)
(I'm joking, of course -- we expect Preview to run until early July.)
Pet Niggles:
1. Having to wait an hour in the queue (35 mins left) before even getting to download!
2. Found that two previous attempts to download said I didn't have enough HDD space - 30 Gb on one disk and 50 Gb on another free left me a bit confuddled! Until I noticed that fileplanet thinks the download is over 300 Gb!
Duh uh!
3. Having to wait .. uhm ... waiting!

dont feel too bad about d/l, i got mine so slow using RR cable and it is d/ling at 35k per sec. i got to wait around 3 hrs, it would had done long time ago if RR run at fastest rate of d/ling.
something must have clogging up my IP, had IM removed and all that stuffs slow down my computer.
In the end it took me about three hours to get the key and download.
Only to find Turbines usual quality at handling things the same as usual.
The registering of the key at Turbine timed out and set the key to used even though I hadn't completed registering.
Lots of others are having the same problem.
Looks like ******** do not have the ability to handle a preview release adequately.
God forbid what the expansion pack release day is going to be like!

I'm in the middle of the BS right now. And even if it was a perfect process that took less than two seconds, I didn't appreciate having to hand my personal info to another effing spaminator web site to be able to get this file.
And for those who say "hey that's the price to play to preview", I remind you that this is one of the few ways to ensure I can *continue to play the freaking game* after TOD goes live. I've decided to ignore the gems and not pre-order (gasp!) and will choose if and when I'll upgrade, TYVM. And a lot of that has to do with.... how well the preview works!

Fileplanet is an expert at delivering files to people. They have been doing it for years. I very happy that Turbine decided to contract with a company knows how to host and deliver the preview unstead of trying to do it themselves...

My download doesn't even work after downloading about 3mb. I tried starting it again and it stops after a few seconds of downloading with the download manager 2.0. It does the same with the original download manager from fileplanet. Even if I resume it does the same. Is there another way to get the file instead of downloading through fileplanet download managers?
