So whats up with the super magic D on the high lvl monsters?
How is it that my trained life melee is going to be able to do anything if my 100/100 focus/self lvl 260 mage has a hard time vulning?
I changed my mind about the new vitae system it really is too much.

I use a mage with trained life but creature spec, gotta yield everything but that's ok.
Guess melees without spec life will need a mage, but that's nothing new eh.
The new high level mobs like the 215 ruschk don't have very high health, and that's a pretty common trend in the mobs on halaetan and let me say OMFG THANK YOU TURBINE hehe. I absolutely H8 yield=vuln=warwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwar warwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwa rwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarw arwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwar warwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwarwa r then finally it's dead. Not very exciting, so I like that the new guys just get right to the point, vuln war war war dead :)

All the devs did was change it to
yield=vuln=resistresistresistresistresistwarresist resistresistwarresistresist
resistwar dead.

I like very much this specific part of the change. Killing a colossal mite was exactly like playing DAoC; now, you're back to the incertainty and challenge of the good old time of OP at level 50 in 2001. Old templates will revive. We won't be all maxed trained. Specializing will pay, and that's good.

well, in the normal game you can use cantrips:
foc stone + majors + hom-head + font + 11% brac + maxed = 480 Life Magic
preview without cantrips = 441

No kidding my character has 380 buffed life magic. That is with foc/self/life very close to being maxed. My character is designed to fight humans not creatures with insanely high resist. I could drop melee D since it's worthless trained but would specialzing life make a difference? I take rends aren't going to work on the new creatures so how the heck am I suppose to burn vp on a level 200?
edit: ok 390 with majors and foc stone would specializing even make a difference?

My main is Finally a 4 school Unarmed, & War, Mana conversion and Arcane Lore Specialised, with his Other 3 schools trained, and has Missle and Magic Defense, Trained also He's on Morningthaw - Dark Majesty and is 1 and 1/2 years older than Dark Majesty, and just a lvl 79, but when he breached the barrier to get mele def trained, I was finally able to go into dungeons where he could get well over a million xp an hour, and has gone from lvl 45 to 79 in just 3 months, which i realise is way too long now, since I made a dagger char on same world and he was born with mele specialised, well he's awesome, but when it came to the lvl 80 olthoi queen in the 20+ dungeon, by himself he couldnt hurt her enough to kill her at all fought her for a whole set of buffs and had her health down to 50% after 15 min then she healed and after that I never got her below 89% so I got a bit upset that my lowly lvl 49 Dagger toon couldn't hurt a lvl 80 olthoi brood matron so I took my main in lvl 79 4 SCHOOL UNARMED, MELE MAGE, who until he got MELE, wouldn't come within 100,000 yards of an OLTHOI gose in to see if he can deal with this witch, I reduced her natural armor, and her magic defense, and cold vulned, and cold wared, 3 times, no hit over 15 hp with cold, and then fire vulned, then a lvl 44 unarmed char who I had seen kill this same matron at lvl 40, more about this in ( ) later, anyway the lvl 44 asked my lvl 79 if he needed some help, and since I wasnt hurting her i thought yea, but first i hit her with a fire war and she looked like she exploded, am I right in thinking I had froze her and when the fire war spell hit her it shattered her? or was that just an awesomely lucky 1 fire war hit hit her for the last 89% of her health it was like 780 or so, (anyway heres more about why I feel dagger chars have been skipped over with the ability to hurt monsters - this is due to the total lack of Love for the Dagger Chars, if you look there is no dagger with 1/2 the base damage of a sword, ua weapon, staff, spear, needless to say I had never noticed this until I made a dagger char, but even in the preview of destiny check the turbine vendor and the HP of the weapons he sales and compare each type perfect good and the buffable one's and the dagger's have less than 1/2 the HP - hit points of any of the other weapons, if you could Turbine Can this reasoning be explained, or is it just that its a heritage skill and those skills dont have near the killing power of the ones your not born with, but if this was true then unarmed and staff would both be just as cheesey as dagger, and the skill is awesome its the weapons that stink, the ones with enough hp to hurt something are always base dagger 250 - 350 and when i get one im just a few points below being able to use it so i puymp up the skill and try the weapon, and low and behold, even buffed it winds up missing or being evaded 98 % of the time with a dagger skill of 349).
Boy im long winded

I made a spec sword/life, 100 focus/10 self, and currently have focus, self, and life maxed. There are creatures I have not been able to land on. Just my observation. No majors/minors. but level VII buffs.

Some new high lvl content is melee oriented and some is mage oriented.
140+ Egg Hatchery,
this dungeon is melee, great XP. Mobs are fairly hard to kill, 3000ish health. But with proper rending weapons they go down in a fair amount of time.
But you'll have a really hard time landing a spell on them.
Others, such as the virindi or eater dungeons are mage oriented, in that have extremely high armor and melee's cant kill them in a reasonable amount of time without the help of a mage.
It's a good mix.
Remember old high end content? Virindi executors and above damn near everywhere, and they took far too long to killl as a melee, but were cake for mages.
Now we see a little balance.
