Geez!

Does not anyone understand that this is just a PREVIEW!!!

There will be bugs, there will be issues, help out and write bug reports so the game CAN be better. Turbine nor any game company could afford to have several thousand computers with as many configurations that exist in the real world to work out ALL the bugs. That is where WE come in as users. Stop whinning about the preview and help out. Better yet, if the bugs in the system bug you that much, just leave. Who is holding a gun to your head?

I have played this game for years because I enjoy it. Yes, the lack of content for months while ToD was a little boring, but I found ways to cope with it and actually had a great time. Besides, I think they more than made up for it by having all these live events where I participated. I really enjoy the game because it is a great way to release stress and meet people. For 13 bucks a month my whole family can enjoy it. Try going to the movies or dinner with friends for $13!

Please people, take advantage of what Turbine is doing since it may not come around again. The preview of ToD is beautiful and I think they did a killer job on it all things considered. My only complaint on it may be just this;

When can we see a client for Linux?

well....it is a preview, not a beta.

The preview client we downloaded on the 22nd, from what I understand is also the client that is on the gold CD.

Somehow the process for arrowheads that crashes the PC made it past the QA department and the closed beta testers?

Somehow between all the QA department and the closed beta testers, nobody had an ATI card or an NVidia card?

Seems to me QA and beta all hade super machines and there was no testing done n machines close to the min reqs...

Preview was a chance to show off this great game, and for all of those that can get on, there are quite a few that cannot.

Personally I was going to use the preview to base whether or not to get ToD. I am crying because I cannot get in because of bugs and a poorly done client, and as it sits, will not buy ToD and likely miss out on a good game.

no, it's an open beta

can't find the quote from the dev but it's out there

semantics anyway

funny how some will accept bugs when it's called a beta but not if it's called a preview

While they are calling it a preview, it IS a beta.

The preview client may be the same as the one on the gold CD, and it will patch to update one the install is complete, just like it did when you downloaded and installed it.

The point of this preview, was to work out bugs, not just to show it off.

Having seen a number of them, this has been a relatively smooth open beta, you should have seen the one for SWG, it was BAD.

Yes it is. (http://forums.ac.turbinegames.com/showpost.php?p=210135&postcount=57)

Unfortunately, it's contradicted by this statement (http://forums.ac.turbinegames.com/showpost.php?p=218284&postcount=1) from the last weekly update:

this is not a Beta

Ajo HG - I love it when someone complains about other people posting concerns - who is the REAL crybaby? LOL

YES! I don't use Linux primarily because I can't play Windows games, I'm with you :) All developers, please make your software Linux compatible so we can get rid of Windows - or at least have an alternative :)
