Canadian Pre-Orders.

Can anyone tell me how to go about Pre-Ordering in Canada.

I do not feel like paying 14.99 Shipping to get it from EBgames or Gamestop's website, and it seems like the local EBgames has no idea about the gems.

Is there a 100% way to get the gems in Canada without paying overpriced shipping? :confused:

there were several thread dedicatred to this topic and the issuse was resolved

you need to go to EB games Canada and do your pre order via a store
now they cant garrentee that you will get one at such a late date

Right, time issue aside(It's still a preorder, since it's before the 18th)... the people at EBgames seem completely clueless as to if I'll get the 'gems' they just ramble on about a box and how some games boxes come earlier etc.

The whole point of the preview was to give those that wouldn't otherwise buy the expansion pack a chance to play it and see if they want it. :p

Where did you get this idea? You can still order the bonus online:

and register it with the Turbine billing system.

In the United States there are still stores with the bonus on the shelf. Once they run out they are out. At lot of Best Buy stores still have them.

Due to the depletion of the actual boxes in brick and mortar stores trying to get your hands on the bonus may be expensive. This is defintely an issue for anyone that uses the EBGames estore.

I thought Sony, EBGames and Gamestop were messed up in the United States for preorders. In Canada, the preorder/bonus process got royally screwed up far beyond what occurred in the United States. So much so, I am not even to try to explain what went wrong or the temporary solution that was provided. That is just because I will get the story wrong. It is going to take a Canadian that went through this process to explain it.

Like I said before, the possibilities have become quite limited for everyone. It basically comes down to finding in a store. Which best I can tell was never possible in Canada. Or paying extra to have it shipped from an estore.

I gave up on the pre-order in Canada. To order it online via Ebgames was expensive as they wanted to charge you a highly inflated price for shipping.

I ended up just ordering my 4 copies from Amazon.ca and it came with free shipping. Not to mention, rather than a $29.99 US price tag, it was only $29.99 Canadian.

I may not get the gems, but for what they give you, I would rather save the extra $75 or so for the 4 copies.

I should have said that IN CANADA in the MANY STORES I checked they came in and went out and not everyone got a pre-order box.

Satine stated that in Europe Codemasters is sold out.

Another Turbine employee stated that unless you ordered prior to something like May 14th you were NOT guarunteed to get a box. Not that you could not get it but that you were not Guarunteed to get one.

In Canada ( Toronto ) I had to call head office for Canada and have mine specifically shipped for me to the store I frequent and at that time, several weeks ago, they were almost gone.

Now if you order from the US via the EBGames website I don't know if you will get the special pre-order.

That's not really fair. Ebgames here in canada don't get any "boxes" early. Usualy they get them late. They know nothing about pre-order bonus. Wheather i ordered 5 months ago, or July18 won't make a different in wheather I get it.

Now if I don't.. I think turbine better come up with a solution to allow me to get the gems somehow.

Not very nice to screw over a whole country, when it's a stones throw away.

EBgames Canada had a limited amount of pre-orders and we only got those after some of the Canadian posters here got on their phones to EB headquarters.

Vlad and I pre-ordered ours at the local store and were told even then that the supply was limited and we had no guarentee we'd get it. Luckily, we did. This issue seems to be squarely on the shoulders of the PC game buyer for EBCanada. <--that is my opinion after reading and talking to several people.

Although it is technically not too late to order online or from other places, it is definitely too late at our EBgames around here.

This whole situation is badly screwed up. The gems should be upgrade bonuses.

If you buy ToD and apply it to an existing account - you get the gems.

and btw that date was April 15th ...

I pre-ordered mine before then .... and if I can read this faded recepit it looks like I got them on May 11th ... so almost 2 months ago.

I tried several months ago contacting several EB Games outlets in Toronto, Canada several times each. The end result was that they had little to no idea about this expansion let alone any bonus pack. I did look at ordering the expansion through the US but gave up as the cost of shipping does not make it worthwhile as reported here. I have not purchased the expansion and I'm not sure if I ever will especially considering that I won't be getting any of the gems. So, yeah, the situation here was really screwed.
