I played AC for 3 years quit about 6 months after fallen king started. I just got throne of destiny and god how things have changed. basically forgetting everything I knew, I got my old guys back...but everything is so different, easy towns are now swarmed with highlevel monsters. spells I knew have new pitures...basically learning all over. all the maps I used before like AC tracker and split pea, do these still work? is there someplace I can revamp my skills with out dying by gold wasps and tumeroks on my tail? :(

first thing is try to forget some of the stuff you used to know. indeed certain towns have way tougher creatures around them, creature levels have changed around, so don't assume something is safe, act like you play a new game and be careful.

here you can find some maps that should what level a certain area is for.

spells have totally changed, check out the help in game or in your manual about spells. you can't learn them anymore like in the old days, but need to learn them from scrolls that you can buy.

you can indeed change around the skills on your character, for more info check this page, but it might be wise to first play a little to get a hang of things before you change everything again.

the timer is now just 1 minute and you don't need the comps i believe.

That is correct Boneyard you dont need comps to get passed the statue head just double click it and it takes you straight to the gems room no fighting golems :)

one more thing, you do not need the comps for spells anymore, you buy the foci stone? and taper and thats it? is mayoi still the cheapest spot for mana stones...but am I going to die trying to get there? I notice no one was in arwic subway, actually I have hardly seen anyone at all...is this world deserted? or am I just in the old boring parts?

In regards to magic..you can go to scrivners in any town..(focis fill up one pack slot for each school so a total of 1 you need for each school equaling 4 slots in packspace ).. they sell the focis for each schools along with their selected spells scrolls to learn....each town has different lvl spells..to change from the old spell components....to using only scarabs and prismatic tapers..focis take up pack space so consider the old method of all the components versus the foci pack and only the scarabs. and prismatic tapers welcome back to asherons call..it is a new and exciting game..with alot of the old excitement and then some..Mayoi is the cheapest way to get the comps and mana stones..

As far as mana stone Mayoi is not your best option. Mana stone have changed allot, they drop off mobs and transfer allot of mana for junk u find while hunting. Only 1 reasonto buy mana charges, there really expensive and work good for Death Items.

Mana for your items is basically free, mana charges are nothing but Death items.

I'll agree with that. Theres enough junk weapons/armor/jewelry etc that isn't even worth salvaging as the base material has no current use. Just use major mana stones and you'll never have to worry again.
