So, as far as I can tell I should be DX 9 compliant. My sound card is in slot 2 and the Nic card is in Slot 4, they are on different IRQ's as well (Nic is on IRQ 111 and Sound is on 9 I belive)

any ideas?

Wow, great system report! :D

Have you tried disabling sound entirely to see if there is improvement?

Can't think of anything else other than what has already been posted :p

DavidGe,

The sound being turned off in game didn't fix my issue, but running Media Player in the background did, and I get all the sound I want, even MP3's running. It's weird but it works.

I'm pretty sure that that vidio card is not DX 9.0c compliant. It looks like it was made before DX 9.0c. Your best bet is to upgrade. Your computer can handle better. If your really strapped for cash something like a gf 5200 FX will only cost you around 30 bucks (I just use the 5200 as an example since I don't know if you have an AGP slot).

Version 9 or 10 of Windows Media Player?
