If Western Australia is 4 times bigger than Texas, think of how much bigger then France it is...

I don't understand this. What does the size of a country (or a part of it) realy means?
I can be wrong, but as far as I know big parts of Texas and Western Australia are deserts.
And living in a bigger part, does that mean the people living there are greater, faster or more intelligent?
Come on guys, grow up.

Back in the 50's there was a discussion between lawmakers, the rep from Texas was complaining about the upcoming admission of Alaska to the Union because Texas would no longer be the biggest state... the reply from the Representative of Alaska said, "No problem, We can split Alaska into 5 states, then Texas can be number 6"
But Texas is still bigger then France.

Yeah, we are, so do what he said :D
(I had to streach for this one  )
GSP (Gross State Product) for Texas = $ 803 billion
GDP for Australia = 201 billion
Texas is 4 times more productive then Australia
Before you get all bent out of shape, that is in Australian money... in US Dollars it's $ 444 Billion.... so Texas is only twice as productive as Australia in US Dollars...
Either way, they are still our buds :)
An Aussie Billion is = 1 million million.
A US Billion is = 1000 million (I think) :D

That's because it's not big enough... are you trying to highjack our highjacked thread  ?
Oh, and 1,000,000,000 = 1 Billion in both places,
1,000,000,000,000 = 1 Trillion (1 million million)
unless you are taught New Math... in which case it can be what ever you (or your Calculator) says it is...

No he has a point a US billion is not the same as proper billions.... add another 'nought' to get it right!!
UK is much smaller than France and I had better not add anymore to it than that!!! (UK GDP: US$ 1,782,000,000,000 = 1782 billion $US) Wonder what that is in Euro's.................????
So size doesn't matter ;)

Bama (Alabama) football (not soccer) team...
Hey SCM, seeing as you Aussies call 1 Million Million (1,000,000,000,000) a Billion what is the name of the 1000 Million (1,000,000,000) and what is your Trillion?
Not that it matters if the mesurements are done in US Dollars or Euro's (or Yen, Wan, or Rupees) as long as the measures are the same.
Chlo-ver, if you had not heard, the French raised their Terrorist Threat level after the Bombings in London to the level just below the top...

Noun
US version
1. 1000000000000, trillion, one million million
quantity; the number that is represented as a one followed by 12 zeros
“in England they call a trillion a billion”
Aussie version
2. 1000000000000, billion, one million million
quantity; the number that is represented as a one followed by 12 zeros
In Aussie $1,000,000,000 = 1,000 million. Nothing special as far as I know.
Can we add a bit of Ray Charles & Willy Nelson to the music line up :)
Beer in Australia costs from $1.20 - $10.00 for a variety of glass sizes & venues.
