View Full Version : Think about making loot weapons better for PvP

Right now the best pvp weapon is a 1-3 hour quest weapon.

You have stated several times that the best weapons in the game should be tinkered items, not quest items.

Having weeping weapons as the best PvP weapons creates a lack of originallity between characters. It also makes it so people who worked hard to get every elemental AR weapon pretty much get screwed over. There is also the fact that people that PvP now have ZERO chance of dropping any items because they can be totally non-drop without any punishment to damage given/taken.
(Character uses sharded GSC with a weeping weapon)

I have a problem with that concept myself. I mean honestly, you CANT use loot items even if you want anymore. You will just get obliterated by anyone else.

Twista (player of In Nox) uses only AR swords to PK with for the last 2months from what I have seen, from my last encounters with him, and he did damn fine with them. AR Weapons are STILL VIABLE in PK.

Twista does not use AR swords anymore because they are not as good as weeping swords are. The only reason he used AR weapons was because of the different elements he could use but now weeping weapons are available in all elements.

Why would someone want to use a fully tinked AR weapon if it isn't as good as a simple quest item?

I posted this a while back:

I'd like to see (a tweaked version of) Humanslayer as an imbue and not a weapon anyone 60+ can obtain and do almost max damage right off the bat. Taking Weeping Weapons out of the game and making Humanslayer an imbue for loot weapons would help the economy and make things more interesting again. Everyone uses the same thing. When AR first came out, people were all about hunting and trading. Now, for PvP at least, weapons dont really matter much, you just get your weeping weapons and go at it. Having that uber sword or bow made you feel so much more proud and powerful. It also allows for more customization. Someone might rather tink up their melee defense on a bow or melee weapon to evade a lot more, but do less damage. This would mean the Humanslayer property would HAVE TO BE TWEAKED some for melee and missile weapons...130% mod humanslayer bows and 20-40 swords with the current humanslayer property would be way too much. Maybe even leave the weeping weapons in game, but make them kinda middle of the road compared to imbued weapons. Seems pretty fair...you can have a decent weapon for PvPing by doing a simple quest, but to have a great weapon you have to put in more effort AND take a risk you might drop that weapon.

Better way of saying what I was getting at.
