hello all, I've been playing FFXI Kujata server since 2003 US release and I always wanted to play AC after watching my friends play. The thing is, I'm worried about which server I should play on, mainly the population part..... I want to be around lots of players , as much as possible cause im used to it in mmo's =]
think some of you could give me how many players are roughly on Harvestgain, TD, and others? During Pacific and eastern time would be great!
thank you so much, I love the AC community ;)

Don't listen to the naysayers. Every MMO is a timesink in some way. The thing is having fun while you sink the time and I have been having fun sinking my time in AC for over 5 years and have yet to run out of things to do. AC supports solo play better than any other MMO out there and group play is beneficial as well.
To answer your question about server counts, you will see people talk about the "good ole days" of 1500 to 2000 people on each server, but those days are gone. For now, pick a regular play server and stretch your legs to get a feel for the game.

LMAO, FFXI is more of a timesink than AC will ever be :p

All the "white" servers (that is all servers except Darktide - a red server) have about the same number of players. Verditine, Solclaim, and Wintersebb are the newest, so probably have a few fewer players, while the others were existing since the game launched.
I play HG personally, and am biased to think we have the best community. But I've heard nice things about TD as well. :) All and all you will find about the same number of people on any white server.

The key to feeling the population is being in a good monarchy. It's always been like that for me, even when server pops were maxing.

Knight's of Fortune (http://www.fortunesway.com) on Morningthaw. Welcome to AC!
But to get the pops up, it takes the community welcoming and teaching the new players.
Not just throwing some armor and buffs their way. That's not what makes AC great. It's the people you meet!
Now, I know that's not true of everyone but it's true for this guy :)

VT(verdentine) has had roughly 33% less population than the 'old servers' on a rather cosistant basis, so stay away from that one if population is your main concern. Honestly, though, none of the servers are very populated these days. Portal storms are a thing of the past.

You're not going to find as many players playing on a server simultaneously as you will find here.
This game's subscription numbers don't compare to Final Fantasy XI's.

As funny as it is...
I took time today during darktide to run around the other servers with some old characters.
In the time that I did that I found less people on the Normal Servers than on Darktide
I thought it was funny.
If you are looking for a twist, like a challenge and risk. I'm ingame as Oblique, I'll help ya get started... but admittedly, there is a lot of catching up I'd have to help you with heh.
