Hey I might be coming back. With a friend also. Not sure if anyone remembers me but I quit right when AC: DM came out.. I was too poor.
Anyways, I know it's probably impossible, but would my character data still be saved from AC's First version of the game?
Also, does Xog still play? Haven't seen him in ages.
Also, any of the Lakes? (Palinore of the Lake, Tristan of the Lake, Asmira of the Lake?)
Is it still possible to not buy ToD and just use my first CD? Amazingly, I still have it. I want to see if it's worth buying ToD and start playing again, but I don't want to spend $30(or more) for a game I might not be interested in anymore.
Your account is most likely intact. You would need to use the Three-Point migration system on Turbine's site though, which means you need to know one of your character's names, their server, and the Zone name that goes with it. If you don't know all of those things, you're out of luck.
Personally, I'd shell out the cash for ToD. It's 30 bucks, yes, but the first month is free. There's a great deal of new content included with ToD that you'd really be missing out if you just play AC DM.

Well I remember playing in Harvestgain, What do they mean by zone? One of the four rooms that you have to choose after you click Harvestgain?
I remember playing in the one on the right. No clue what it's called
Edit: I went to http://classic.zone.msn.com/asheronscall/default2.asp?strLobbyType=w2 and checked it out, I think it's Silent Room 2 or Empyrean Arms Inn
These are the "zones" they refer to right?
How much is it per month now? Has price dropped?

12.95/month, so it has risen. It is inline with other games right now, AC1 was one of, if not the, last games at 9.95/month before they raised it.
To "migrate" your old account:
Your zone account name is what you will need (as well as the names of your characters and the server you played on). I think you begin online here:
https://billing.turbinegames.com/index.php?page_id=65
If you run into trouble though, try calling Turbine's customer service and I believe they will walk you through.
Also, AC is no longer connected with Microsoft, so you no longer play via the Zone. Instead you need to download the new launcher. If you purchase ToD the launcher will be installed with it.
Welcome back :)

When you say Zone that I used, do you mean the screenname that I would sign on with?
Not the email address, but the actual zone name. IE, you log in and it says "Hello <Name>".
