Because of the ability to log in for 30 mins to a hour and get xp even solo since my time will be going to hell soon. Few questions though.

1) Read in a seperate thread that they had 1 min respec gems to lure people back - Still active? How much longer?

2) I forgot what server I was on, but if Clan Who is still going I'd like to know before I came back (can find a new Clan but I still have hopes for Clan Who being there)

3) Assuming 1 min respecs are still available (If not I'm starting as the new race possibly) are the Olde Mage specs out of date yet? (OG, BM...)

4) Would this spec end up gimped? If somebody has done it speak up I want to know. Add any tips

100 Coord (Quick if Coord doesn't add to melee D, been year+)
100 foc
100 self

@ lvl 150

Spec Melee D
Spec War
Spec Life

Train Creature
Train Life
Train UA (racial if gems available still -- Also my old skill so it'll have mass xp still in it /blah)
Train ManaC
Train Magic D (Maybe Train War and Spec Magic D? Benefits of War spec vs trained? my first mage)
Trained rest of innate junk

Will be teamed with my brother some of the time (Sword) which is a lot of the reason I want Melee D (so I can stay alive in mass fights like my UA guy could, though I could prolly pop out my shield and UA since I'll still have all that xp in UA)

Insomnia is my enemy.

1 - The untrain/spec gems are still on a 1 min timer, but that will stop with the September patch (sometime in mid- to late-September, assuming Turbine doesn't change their minds.

2 - Can't speak to that one, sorry.

3 - OG and BM are still perfectly viable. In fact, there are actually *more* viable mage types now than before, since you can spec skills after creation. My mage is Spec'd in Creature, Life, and War, for instance. Others spec Life, War, and Magic Defense (which, incidentally, is MUCH more useful than it was when you left, I'd imagine). Melee defense is also quite useful now that wands have melee defense bonuses, which leads to your next question...

4 - No, that template is not possible. There is a 64 credit specialization cap. War costs 16+12, Life costs 12+8, and Melee costs 10+10, for a grand total of 68. You could spec War, Creature, and Melee, but that's about it.

Also, when you use an untrain gem, all the XP you've invested into the skill is freed. That means if you untrain UA, you will have no skill in it, aside from whatever your base attributes give you. You can reallocate your base attributes too, but you can't get the XP you've spent on each attribute back.

Couple other things about your template. I assume you meant train Item after train creature on your list... that'd be very important. I wouldn't pick up UA (or spend any XP on it, if you are Sho). Having more than one offense means you'll be spreading XP between the two, making them both weaker than one could be alone. Also, with 10 strength, you'll be crippling yourself in that department. Magic D comes trained by default and you can do quite well for yourself with that. However, at high levels, the monsters' skills will outpace you, making spec'd magic d attractive. It's also very useful if you want to PK or PKL.

Spec'ing or Training war is a tough choice, but I personally prefer it to be spec'd. If you don't spec war, you will be at a disadvantage against the higher level creatures in the game, which resist people with War maxed out. You could spec creature and go around yielding everything before you attack, but that seems to me like a big waste of time.

Last, but not least, you can get away with training melee d if you want to fight with your brother. As it stands now, mages with melee defense get a huge bonus because of the mods on wands. Melees might get a 15% bonus on their weapons, but no melee is going to waste tinkers on the melee mod. Mages have nothing better to do than tinker up the melee d mod (for now, at least), so some mages run around with +41% mods on their wands! Also, mages can now effectively use Ring spells in conjunction with Resistance Rending wands to blow away large packs of attackers.

Good luck and I hope you do return!

(60 points)
Spec Melee D
Spec War
Spec Magic D (Will be one of the last skills to raise and won't be till like almost lvl 200, but trained should be fine I think)

Train Creature
Train Life (You reminded me of Rend wands - Vulns not quite that important now I assume? I know I didn't bother on my Life UA)
Train UA (racial, if gems available still -- Also my old skill so it'll have mass xp still in it /blah because I can't take it lower than Trained + I was a UA)
Train ManaC
Train Item (oops, listed life in train and spec)
Trained rest of innate junk

Pretty sure I'm coming back, my biggest issue was screwing up my main guy so bad. (Crossbow + UA anyone?)
