New Player Looking for some advice

Hello Asheron's Call!

New player here looking for some advice on class and server.

I am a very experienced player and a veteran of several other games (DAOC, SWG, EQ2) now looking to try AC2 for the first time.

I am probably going to build a melee character as a first toon - any suggestions for flavor? Advice on what NOT to do?

I am also looking for an active server with a balanced PVP environment - my understanding is that AC2 has excellent PvP on the order of DAOC where realms or territories compete with each other?

I am looking for advice on a server with a good population, good players and groups and monarchies, and not a totally one-sided PvP situation.

I am somewhat of a power-player time permitting but don't really like macros or bots or stuff like that - why bother - but I also have a fulltime job so can't dedicate 100 hours a week to a game either. Any suggestions?

Aside from the fact that you're posting on the wrong boards, are you aware that AC2 will be shut down before the year is out?

I thought an expansion pack just came out for AC2?

there just was an expansion released for ac2 however since its release it was announced they will be shutting the game down in dec i believe it was.

Asheron's Call throne of Destiny is for Asheron's Call 1 and isn't going anywhere

Asheron's Call Legions is the Asheron's call 2 expansion and it will be out of service at the end of the year and unplayable.
