View Full Version : Thinking of returning to AC1.

I played AC1 about three years ago, I've tried going back multiple times but everytime I go back, I get hyped up about playing, and then I go to a place that should have atleast a few people and it's COMPLETELY DEAD. I'd come back for sure if I knew which server had the most players and that there were people actually around my level :p No game has satisfied me like AC has, I just hope I'll be able to back into the grind :(
The white servers (ie, not Darktide) all have similar pops with VT having the lowest. Darktide's pops are actually higher now, mostly because it's the only PK server and that tends to concentrate people.
I can sympathize with your complaint about not seeing anyone - I've hunted dungeons solo that used to have long waiting lists to join the fellow. I think your best bet is to find a good active monarchy and go from there. Having people to talk to on the allegiance channel makes a lot of difference to me, especially if the dungeon I am in is mostly empty. Supposedly September's patch will add global chat channels (which I won't be using), but that might be something you'd enjoy.
I'd suggest you pick up a copy of ToD, migrate your old account, and play your 60 free days. The worst thing that can happen is you get bored and leave, costing you all of 30 bucks.

with the advent of mansions towns don't have near as many people in then as there use to be. Though I visit Holtburg to use the forges and usally see a few people around.
My feeling is most servers have about the same population, thought with ToD it is no longer possible to see how many are logged into a server at any given moment.

I agree a clan is the best thing. We are one of the smaller clans on WE but there is always someone around, at the mansion or hunting somewhere. Towns are busy during events but otherwise quiet. Allegiance channel has made it so nice to find who's on in the clan. Also the double xp weekends and live events bring everyone out and the dungeons and towns become packed. Its great fun.
With decal down, and being worked on to fit with TOD and the graphics upgrades, the marketplace (@marketplace) which is usual portal storm busy is empty too. That will change as soon as decal is working again.
