I'm new to the game, been dinking around for a few weeks and have come to the point where it's time to make changes to my char from the knowledge gained.

Having read bits and pieces here and there I gather that skills can be changed, acquired, dropped, etc. Seem mention of temples, sell back gems, etc but no actual information on the who, what, where in order to accomplish this.

Over my time playing I have leveled my char to around 60 and decided that two skills are worthless for me as a pure melee fighter. I would love to drop these two which I understand I would get the skill points back. Would I also get the experience points invested?

I would also like to specialize in a skill, swords, that I'm only trained. Would I go about specializing and the amount of experience I've placed would get recalculated and my base skill would go up? Or would I have to untrain, gain my experience I placed in back then specialize and reapply to get that gain of specializing with the same amount of exp. points invested?

Guess what It comes down to is a run through of how this works exactly. Just a who to talk to and where would probably work and I can figure out the rest from there.

Thanks for anyone who can help me out on this matter.

You can go to the temple of forgetfullness to forget skills and the temple of enlightenment to specialize one. Do you want a full instructions for this? I'll put them at the bottom of the post so you can skip if you want.

Any skills that you trained yourself you will get credits and experiance back from. Any inate skills like loyalty, salvaging, your racial weapon cannot refound credits but you will regain the experiance you spent into them.

You can just specialize sword and it will recalculate how high the skill should be for how much xp you invested.

for the spell component you need most players carry only one(usually hyssop) and talk to the statue until it ask for the essense of malar(this is the one that hyssop lets you in for)

There is a 2 week timer on being able to change skills. After picking up any of the skill related gems from either temple you cannot pickup another for 2 weeks. To clarify you cannot get gems to specialize sword and drop a skill on the same day. Make sure if you are going to specialize sword first that you have the 8 extra credits you need or will get them shortly from leveling.

You can adjust your attributes every 2 weeks though by getting a raise gem from one temple and a lower gem from the other.

Most people collect the gems that they will need before using them. For instance, if you need to sell back lockpick in order to specialize fletching, you would collect the forget lockpick gem and keep it in a pack for two weeks, then go get the specialize fletching gem. Then use them both. That way you can still use lockpick during the interim period.

If you are going to switch weapons, be sure that you dont end up without any weapon at all. Collect the unspec gem, wait two weeks, collect the untrain gem, wait two weeks. Then you can use the unspec and untrain gems, train the other weapon, and get the spec gem.

Thanks to the both of you, cleared things up. I'm going to give it a try first without using the links and if I run in to a wall I'll know where to go. Once again thanks.
