I was really thinking about coming back to AC1 from Everquest, but from my previous post it seems like it isn't because of the population? True or false?

I just came back... populations are low... its hard to say, maybe around 400 people on on DT... having fun tho, but it isn't like it used to be.

I'll put it this way.
maxed melee characters tear you a new one.
I've seen archers and x-bowers hit my mage for ridiculous damage lately (yes, xbow) and other melee skills are pretty good. Just be worried about those maxed melees with 100 innate health + majors + pre-order HP gem (+10% hp).

My template has been working out preety well. I have never been very good at playing a melee and I am Okish at mage but definately not good. I have always been above average as an archer. atm I'm spec dagger/crossbow/meleeD/creature.
Other archers and mages are not much of a problem to kill with my tinked crossbow. crippling blow +12frost 189% sk6 def 6 BD7 unenchantable(stasis water), magic absorbing. Its not maxed but it can't be debuffed and most other peoples weapons can be. Melees are hard. Shields own archers. I usually start with inepts and debuffs then either use weeping xbow or go dagger and pull my cov sheild. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, really depends on level, equipment and skill of the individual melee. Good melees still usually kill me. But alot of the melees out there just switched from mage cause of the dmg changes and they panic and get run down cause they don't know how to dodge friggin crossbow shots. I think there should be a way to make missle weapons shield hollow but it might be overpoweing if not done properly. Maybe the effect should take a % away from dmg or somthing. Just my 2 cents. Being a debuff whore is no fun, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
