Innate Resistance Augmentations
Cost: 2 billion experience

Each of these Augmentations will grant a character 10% innate resistance to one damage type. Only two of these Augmentations may ever be used, but you may use any combination of two. For example I could use two Fiery Enhancements to give my character 20% innate resistance to Fire damage, or I could use one Fiery Enhancement and one Icy Enhancement for 10% resistance to Fire damage and 10% resistance to Cold damage. The Keepers of these gems can be found in Hebian-To.

From this article http://ac.turbinegames.com/index.php?page_id=294

I also checked that one : http://acvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Quests.Detail&id=315#augtable

Unfortunally, I couldnt find how the innate resistance works.
-Does it stack with life protections and cantrips? By checking acvault the answer is no, but if you check turbine article It doesnt say no.

So how is it working?!?
Here are some hypothetical formula:
-Dmg*[Life Protecton]*[Wards]*[10%innate resistance]*[10%innate resistance] : Max%Protection = 75.9%
-Dmg*[Life Protecton]*[Wards]*[Total 10or20%innate resistance] : Max%Protection = 76.2%
-Dmg*[Life Protecton+10or20%innate resistance]*[Wards] : Max%Protection = 87.25%
-Dmg*[Natural Protection(maxis50%)+10or20%innate resistance]*[Wards] : Max%Protection = 74.5%
-Dmg*[Natural Protection(maxis50%)+10or20%innate resistance] : Max%Protection = 70%
-Dmg*[Natural Protection(maxis50%]*[10%innate resistance]*[10%innate resistance] : Max%Protection = 59.5%

thanks :p

Turbine likes to leave the majority of the game formula and dynamics a big mystery. It is not very often that they explain things. The one big exception was Srand's very detailed explanation on how AC determines the number of items to place on a player's corpse.

That means if you looking for answer your best bet it look for published guides on the major sites or by people that have spent a lot of time and energy testing things.

Now for damage protections, you have two routes to reduce the damage you receive:
1) Life magic and wards
2) Innate protections and innate resistance augmentations

If you want to screw your self up big time. Have two fire augmentation sand the maximum innate protection then cast fire protection one on yourself.

As far as the formula, you are on your own. I have not seen a formula that everyone agrees on. I am sure there are some PlayerKillers that know for sure. But trying to exact useful information out the PKs is very difficult.

You might try going to the Morningthaw forum on ACVault. Paraduck plays on that server and he and his buddies might know.

Well, Im going to ask him but Im 100% sure of the Life Prot and Wards Formula :

Its %LifeProt*%Ward

Thats why minor wards vs major wards only give a 1.75% difference ... so about 10 Hp difference most of the time on some big critics :D

Now, Im just going to ask some guildmates that used some resistance aumentation and I will do the test by myself :)

And as soon as I get the formula I will post it there
