Can't Access Authentication Server

Could someone please help? I realize that when I get this error message it usually means the server is down, but it's been MONTHS. Let me reiterate that, MONTHS. I played actually a year ago and when they did the turbine switch I couldn't access authentication server. I bought the downloadable game today and installed it again and it still won't work. Online chat says there are no available representatives, so I don't know what to do to connect.
I am able to log onto billing support with my username and passwords. Cookies are enabled. I don't have a modem, I have used plenty different types of internet connections over the past couple trials. I don't know what could be the case. Please let me know what I can do to log in.

Okay I just tried port forwarding and that didn't even work. I have a Zyxtel Prestige 660 series, ahhhhhh

I tried port forwarding. Nothing seems to work. Their example one on the instructions has the port numbers in row 1 and row one just says all ports, but it doesn't even work when I put the information in row 2.

Look, I'm a big AC fan. I played years ago on Darktide and had 4 characters over level 126. I miss the quests. I miss the game. I don't know how it has changed in the past year or what the new "AWESOME LEET" armor is but I want in!!! I can't get in because the damn LAUNCHER WONT WORK! Please help. "Can't access authentication server."

My username is correct
My password is correct
I'm PRETTY sure I did port forwarding correctly
I have an internet explorer OVER version 6
My microsoft patch thingy for launcer stuff has been downloaded

What the hell could be the problem?

I'm having the same problem, except I was actually able to log in yesterday. Today it's the Authenticating Failed message when I try to log in. :(
