Is the pvp server a place where everyone run along and kill each other?

Or are there factions vs faction thingy?
Unable to check as i cant log in and try the game now, assuming the server is down now..?

yes any can attack anyone

the only times you cannot be attacked are 5 minutes after a player has killed you, this is referred to as being "white" because on the radar you appear as a white dot instead of a red one. 5 minutes later you are a "red" dot again

almost everyone is in a guild, you can tell what guild a person is in by assessing them. although if you wanted to you could attack someone in your guild the point is to band together with friends to fight off other guilds for hunting spots/fun/etc.

attack someone in your guild... haha. That's a quick way to get hunted down and slaughtered. (generally refered to as team killing or TK, and you don't want that label. quick way to get everyone to dislike you)

As for chaos... Yeah, basically. At least for a while it will seem that way to you. When you get some levels and skill under your belt, you'll get with a guild and it will seem less so.

General advice: Don't hang around in town. Get in, do what you need to, and get out. Don't face shopkeepers- open the keep's window and turn around towards the nearest exit so you can make a quick escape. Won't help much now (you'll die in one hit most likely) but it's a good habbit to develop.

Get levels first. Then get some no-drop gear (listed as "bonded" in the item properties). You'll keep that through death. This will help you stay able to hunt so you can get levels to keep going. You can get some fairly eairly on if you know what to get, so don't feel like it will take forever. You can get no-drop armor as soon as 30 (Greater Shadow armor), and no drop weapons even sooner than that. The weapon you get from the academy is no drop, so don't throw it away untill you get a better no-drop weapon, just in case.

If you find yourself dying so often that you can't keep your loot to sell it, you can salvage it. It becomes worth alot less, but you don't drop salvage on death. Just remember to keep some stuff so you don't drop your armor and such.

All I can think of at this late hour. GL and have fun. Don't worry about losing your stuff too much. The most important thing for you is levels. Loot and items can be lost, but you can't loose xp. Levels make it easier to replace your stuff.
