Lady Aerfalle must be really enjoying watching all the slaughtering going on between the Isparian War and more recently our battles with Grael. She has the perfect spot to watch all the action. Seeing how Aerlinthe is near Vissidal and Dark Isle, and not too faraway is Halaetan Islands, its not surprising why Aerfalle and/or Geraine choose Aerlinthe as spot to settle. Perhaps Aerfalle had foresaw these things to come during the Burun arc and pre-emptively gathered her strength in preparation of it. Also maybe N'cthail was the Old One Aerfalle reported seeing thousands of years ago.

I hope we get to fight a bandit overlord obsessed with taking over dereth. That would be pretty neat and would give dereth something "new." That way, the grael arc is not succeeded with a dumb plot about banderlings and tumeroks.

Kind of funny though, I posted something similiar earlier today on vnboards about what you mention :)
... I think the Isparian bandits, assassins, smugglers, etc. of the heritage groups have a long history of working together that we've slowly seen materializing more since ToD. The ToD lore article, The Malika and the Individual, is an example of it. For instance the Zharalim were not just in Gharu'ndim nation but could be found throughout Ispar. Because of this, I think this ties in the connection between Hamud/Devana (Hamud's daugher) and Oswald; Hamud was once a master of the Zharalim. Also Talal was smuggling books out of Tirethas, the City of Lore, and selling it to the Viamontian nobles Duke Bellenesse, Countess Lotila, and Count Renari. Interesting enough Nuhmudira is known to have been a scholar of Tirethas so she might have played a part in the smuggling ring. I kind of wouldn't be surprised if Talal changed his name to Jaleh to protect his identity after he was exiled from Gharu'ndim. Oswald said he knew all about Jaleh's past so this is something he might of learned from his ties to Hamud.
edit: Not sure if anyone noticed this other minor detail from 'The Malika and the Individual' and other backstory ToD lore but Varicci was in love with Countess Lotila. Supposedly Countess Lotila died while leading a pursuit against Eleonora for killing Prince Renlen but from what I recall there's no account of her body ever being found. On Auberean, Varicci later named one the islands, Lotila Island, in memory of her.

I agree with the idea a bandit story arc.
For years the bandits have slowly been moving their people in. Marae Lassal, the Bandit Castle upgrades etc, the fact that a shadow emmisary lives in bandit castle and this new sawato bandit gang.
Would be awesome

Whoa... not sure if guys know this, I just came across it myself. Since I haven't done the quest yet, I decided to read about Sawato Bandit quest on Maggie's site. Sergeant Huang is an apprentice of the Ryu Jou Gai.
Here's the background on the Sho faction, Ryu Jou Gai:
Order of the Dragon Temple (Ryu Jou Gai)
Those who swear obedience to the Dragon Temple dedicate their lives to the warrior’s path. Ryu Jou Gai members are also encouraged to keep to all Four Stones of Jojiism. The sword is the Order’s primary weapon, but all forms of battle skill, from magic to hand-to-hand combat, are means to a common end. Members of the Ryu Jou Gai are also trained to be administrators and leaders, which is (some argue) the true foundation of power and the true purpose of the Order, especially in a relatively peaceful age.

These guys are wannabe pirates. Pirates are aboard ships and swing from their boat to yours. There are no boats in ac, except the raft.
Would be neat if you take a trip via boat and get attacked by real pirates. That turbine would be really neat, and I allow you to take my idea to the fullest. Time to explore the olthoi infested world of Dereth! :)
On the coast between AB and Fort Teth there is a ship wreck, pretty much nothing left of the ship except some boards on the beach, but it's a small area loaded with undead pirates.
