I recently installed Windows Vista RC1 on my computer and to my surprise AC was working! and even now today, i was able to update the launcher and the game and continue playing, but i logged out for a while, and just a moment ago i tried to log in and i got the same error that i had been getting in previous Vista builds.
"A problem occured while patching: 0x0041008" and then the launcher closes.

PLEASE can someone give me a tip as to how i can get back in the game.

And before anyone even starts, yes i know vista is a unfinished product and as such it doesnt get normal support or anything like that. I had it working, and now its not, if someone has an idea, please let me know

Thanks,

I am also seeing this problem, however, I have not been able to update to the latest patch.

I am running Vista Beta 2, and have not been able to update to RC1 yet!

Are you sure it's a Vista problem and not just your firewall. Often firewalls see patches as new programs so you have to remove AC and launcher from the firewall exeptions and then add them back in. Note: a reboot between removing and readding might be needed in some cases. The regular XP firewall is the only one I use and I do not need to remove/reinstall each patch but I have no idea how the Vista firewall operates, nor your router firewall (if any), nor your modem firewall (if any), nor any other firewall you are runing (if any).

i made sure it was not the firewall by turning off all security (windows and my avast) and plugging directly into our modem. I still recived the same error.

But i installed XP pro again now and all is well, ill wait until Vista comes out...or at least until i hear that EVERYTHING is working right.

The error message that appears has the AC logo on the box. It might be helpful to us to find out what that error code really means...besides numbers. Usually, error codes like that are entered by the Devs to help them find the correct part of the code to deal with the problem.

Since I had just the night before used AC-ToD to update the game and even entered the game, abet without Decal, so it is a problem with the patching that Turbine is using.

I uninstalled ToD and re-installed it. When I logged on this time, I did not get the large download to patch the launcher, but the error. I have removed AC and ACLauncher from the Firewall and it still had no effects, other than generating the error.
